Abstract: A beverage maker includes a heating device for heating water, a cold water inflow, a first hot water outlet, at least one second hot water outlet, a cold water path connecting the cold water inflow to the heating device, a first hot water path connecting the heating device to the first hot water outlet, at least one second hot water path connecting the heating device to the at least one second hot water outlet, a conveying device for conveying water, a first flow meter that is arranged in the cold water path or in the first hot water path, and at least one second flow meter that is arranged in the at least one second hot water path. A method of determining hot water amounts dispensed by a beverage maker and/or hot water amounts used for beverage preparation is also disclosed.

Abstract: A filter capsule for secondary filtration of extracted coffee is provided, where the filter capsule comprises a housing and at least one filter element or consists thereof. The housing comprises a bottom, at least one side wall and at least one cover or consists thereof, the at least one filter element being disposed in an interior space of the housing. Coffee extracted on a brewing strainer can be subjected to a secondary filtration so that suspended particles and emulsified oils of a specific size are separated from the coffee by the filter element of the filter capsule and a new type of coffee is produced. The use of the filter capsule for secondary filtration of coffee is therefore proposed.

Abstract: A beverage machine (1) or a preparation machine, in particular a coffee machine has a main flow path (5) that leads from a line connection or a tank (2) through a boiler (3) to a dispensing location (4). The boiler (3) is connected to the tank (2), to a drip pan (8), to a drain or a dispensing location via a line (7) that encompasses a valve (6). In the case of a boiler (3) that is in the stand-by state, the valve (6) is at least partially open, whereby an unpressurized, open boiler system is at hand. A control device (9), actuates the valve (6) and closes the valve (6) provided that a demand is at hand. A combination of the advantages of a closed and of an open boiler system is possible through this.
