Patent number: 5184383Abstract: A roller, and more particularly a precision transport roller formed of elastomeric material is disclosed. The roller is characterized in that the elastomeric material is formed into inner and outer concentric cylinders which are joined together and which encompass therebetween in co-axial relation a rigid cylindrical bushing. Preferably, the inner and outer cylinders are connected by bridges defined by holes formed in the bushing. The bushing may include beveled end faces for facilitating centering of the bushing in a mold.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 1990Date of Patent: February 9, 1993Assignee: Rubber-En KunststoffabriekInventor: Johannes C. Delhaes

Patent number: 5142758Abstract: For the transport of widths or sheets of paper, a roller is disclosed which comprises a bushing (1), which is surrounded by an elastic cylindrical casing. The bushing has a coaxial bore into which a shaft (3) is pressed. The bore of the bushing (1), which limits the clearance is provided with radially inwardly extending protrusions (2), which are evenly angularly spaced about the bore and which extend in the axial direction. When pressing the shaft (3) into the bushing (1) of the roller body, the protrusions (2) are forced to move radially outwards and effect a rotationally secure connection of the roller body to the shaft (3). Any expansion of the bushing will be even and while possibly enlarging the casing will not interfere with concentricity.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1991Date of Patent: September 1, 1992Inventor: Johannes C. Patent number: 4662662Abstract: A mounting ring of synthetic material for fitting two pipe sections in place relative to each other, has a radial flange (1) and an axial neck (2). Tongues (3, 4, 5, 6) of differing lengths extend radially inwardly and radially outwardly from the neck. These tongues are preferably formed as part of the ring, for example, when molding the ring of synthetic material. The longer radially outer tongues bend over, snap into a groove, and center the ring in a pipe socket. The shorter radially outer tongues support the ring in the socket. When a pipe end is inserted into the socket through the ring the longer radially inner tongues bend and center the pipe in the socket while the shorter radially inner tongues support the pipe end. Thus, the inner surfaces of the pipe sections remain in alignment with each other because the shorter tongues act like spokes against forces acting crosswise on the pipe sections relative to their length.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1986Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: Rubber- en Kunststoffabriek ENBI B. Patent number: 4601685Abstract: An endless conveyer or drive belt reaches with a portion of its cross-sectional configuration facing toward respective guide or drive rollers, into corresponding ring grooves in the rollers. The projecting portion includes an endless helical spring partially embedded in the drive belt. The ends of the helical spring are connected to each other. The spring keeps the belt trained on the rollers.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 1985Date of Patent: July 22, 1986Assignee: Rubber- en Kunststoffabriek ENBI B. V.Inventor: Johannes C. Delhaes

Patent number: 4573563Abstract: A transport roller, especially for transporting sheet material such as sheets of paper, has a rigid core surrounded by a friction increasing jacket of elastic material. At least one member is inserted between the jacket and the roller for preventing a relative axial displacement between the core and the jacket. Such member is an endless helical spring partially embedded in the jacket and projecting into a ring groove in the core, whereby the jacket is firmly held in place on the core against any relative axial displacement.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 1985Date of Patent: March 4, 1986Assignee: Rubber- en Kunststoffabriek ENBI, B. V.Inventor: Johannes C. Delhaes

Patent number: 4495683Abstract: A roller formed by a spindle and a tubular jacket has elastic sleeves for attachment of the jacket on the spindle. Each elastic sleeve consists either of a clamp-on sleeve fitted on the spindle, a clamp-in sleeve applied concentrically therewith in the jacket, and a rubber ring arranged between the clamping sleeves, or of a sleeve of undulated cross-section whose wave crests directed radially outward bear against the inner wall of the jacket while its wave crests directed radially inward bear against the spindle. Lastly the elastic sleeve may consist of a rim or ring of clamping pins angularly spaced apart which are arranged and fixed at regular intervals distributed over the annular space between jacket and spindle.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 1982Date of Patent: January 29, 1985Assignee: Rubber-En Kuststoffabriek Enbi B.V.Inventor: Johannes C. Patent number: 4463955Abstract: A sealing device for a pipe connection requires tighty clamping a sealing ring (1') made of elastomeric material in a socket and of a pipe section for the subsequent insertion of a plug-in end of an adjacent pipe section. An endless expanding ring (2) made of steel is held in an inwardly facing groove and butts in a gap-less manner against the base or bottom surface of an inwardly open groove (3) in the sealing ring (1'). The expanding ring (2) of steel is deformed by radially outwardly forces to increase the diameter of the steel ring slightly beyond the elastic limit of the steel of which the ring (2) is made. Thus, the circular outer periphery of the steel ring is still maintained even after the radially outwardly directed forces are removed, whereby the sealing device is locked in the socket against undesired displacement of the sealing ring (1').Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1983Date of Patent: August 7, 1984Assignee: Rubber- en Kunststoffabriek ENBI B.V.Inventor: Johannes C. Patent number: 4445257Abstract: A shaft with rubber rollers designed to be made in a simple and inexpensive manner. The rollers are made separately with a helical spring or split clamping sleeve vulcanized in them during manufacture. The required number of rollers are ground to size and placed in an assembly block in the required spaced and axially aligned relationship, and the shaft is forced through the central apertures of the rollers.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1981Date of Patent: May 1, 1984Assignee: Rubber-en Kunststoffabriek ENBI B.V.Inventor: Johannes C.
