  • Publication number: 20200360583
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cardiac augmentation device including an actuator configured to apply pressure to a heart to augment a pumping function of the heart, a sensor system configured to record two or more different ECG leads at the augmented heart. The cardiac augmentation device additionally includes a controller configured to determine one or more control parameters for the cardiac augmentation device using one or more of the two or more ECG leads and control operation of the actuator based on the determined one or more control parameters.

  • Publication number: 20100036286
Abstract: An apparatus, in particular a dental splint, for the measurement of occlusal forces in case of a terminal occlusion of teeth comprises at least one sensor which is arranged outside of an occlusion region of the apparatus. A system for the diagnosis or treatment of bruxism serves to determine the position or the size of occlusal forces on the apparatus. A method allows exact localization and quantitative determination of occlusal forces on the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5924508
Abstract: A process carries out an automatic braking operation in which, when the return speed of the accelerator pedal exceeds a threshold value and a transfer of the driver's foot from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal is determined, an automatic braking operation is triggered. During that operation, a brake pressure is generated in the wheel brakes and is terminated when either a defined time has been exceeded since the triggering of the braking operation or when an operation of the brake pedal takes place by the driver. A support of the driver is ensured when operating the brake pedal in critical driving situations and a brake pressure buildup is carried out even before the operation of the brake pedal by the driver. After the automatic braking operation has been triggered, monitoring occurs to determine whether the time derivation of a quantity representing the operation of the brake pedal exceeds a threshold rise value.

  • Patent number: 5887432
Abstract: A brake master cylinder with a plunger piston is acted upon by a brake linkage. A floating piston is arranged between two working spaces and separates the first and the second working space fluidically from one another. Each of the two working spaces opens into a main brake circuit, and the floating piston is axially movable in the brake master cylinder. A sleeve is axially movable in the brake master cylinder and is provided at least between the floating piston and the wall of the brake master cylinder. The sleeve and the wall of the brake master cylinder each have an opening which, in interaction, connect the first working space, formed by the floating piston and the plunger piston, to a displacement passage at least in the case of a movement of the floating piston into a first position in the direction of a brake actuation. With a movement of the floating piston beyond the first position, the sleeve is moved axially and separates the first working space from the displacement passage.

  • Patent number: 5836416
Abstract: Setting-element arrangement controls the longitudinal speed and/or the steering angle of a motor vehicle. More specifically, a user-actuable setting element which, during forward motion, when actuated in a respectively first actuation direction, brings about a change of the parameter controlled thereby in a first change direction and, when actuated out of the position of rest into a respectively second actuation direction which is opposite the first, brings about a change of this parameter in a second change direction opposite to the first. In such a setting-element arrangement, the assignment of the two change directions of the longitudinal speed and/or of the steering angle to the respectively first or second actuation direction of the setting element is inverted, during reverse motion, in relation to that during forward motion. The driver's intuitive association of a setting-element actuation corresponding to the desired dynamic vehicle reaction is thus maintained, even during reverse motion.
