  • Patent number: 5824400
Abstract: The present invention relates to a plastic article formed from several foamed thermoplastic elastomers, such as a thermoplastic polyolefin elastomer based on polypropylene and a vulcanized elastomer at least one of an elastomeric styrene/ethylene/butylene/styrene block copolymer, an elastomeric styrene/butadiene/styrene block copolymer, a thermoplastic elastomer based on polypropylene and an elastomeric styrene/ethylene/butylene/styrene block copolymer and a thermoplastic elastomer based on polypropylene and an elastomeric styrene/butadiene/styrene block copolymer. The present invention further provides plastic articles based on a blend of thermoplastic elastomers and thermoplastic elastomer olefins. The invention further provides a process for making these articles.

  • Patent number: 4325872
Abstract: An improved method for hydrogenating succinonitrile, optionally carrying substituents, to form 2-pyrrolidones, in the liquid phase in the presence of ammonia, using a fixed-bed catalyst wherein the catalyst may be regenerated by successively passing liquid ammonia at 75.degree.-130.degree. C., then hydrogen at 130.degree.-350.degree. C., and then liquid ammonia again at 75.degree.-130.degree. C. over the catalyst.

  • Patent number: 4279820
Abstract: 2-pyrrolidones are prepared by hydrogenating a succinonitrile in the liquid phase in the presence of ammonia by passing an ammoniacal solution of a succinonitrile over a fixed bed catalyst, particularly of the trickle-phase type, in which the catalyst is nickel on an alkaline support such as calcium hydroxide or calcium carbonate. Attractive yields are achieved without the expense of filtering off and separating used catalyst as in prior procedures.

    Assignee: Stamicarbon B.V.
    Inventor: Johannes G. M. Nieuwkamp
  • Patent number: 4193925
Abstract: An improved process for the preparation of 2-pyrrolidone by the liquid phase hydrogenation of succinonitrile in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst and ammonia, whereafter the resulting hydrogenation product is hydrolyzed with water. A hydrogenation catalyst in the form of a fixed bed is used, and a liquid phase of succinonitrile and liquid ammonia is passed over the catalyst at a temperature of between 50.degree. and 130.degree. C.
