Patent number: 10759465Abstract: A steering column includes a steering spindle rotatably mounted in an inner casing tube, which is disposed in an outer casing unit, and a clamping device that selectively secures the outer casing unit in a longitudinal direction. The clamping device includes a locking element, which in a fixing position is non-displaceably connected to an engagement part connected to the inner casing tube, which in a release position is released from the engagement part and permits movement of the inner casing tube relative to the outer casing unit. The inner casing tube and the outer casing unit are coupled by an energy absorption device. The engagement part includes a first driver element and a connecting part with a second driver element. The engagement part and the connecting part are connected to each other in the longitudinal direction via the coupling device in a releasable manner.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2017Date of Patent: September 1, 2020Assignees: THYSSENKRUPP PRESTA AG, THYSSENKRUPP AGInventors: Johannes Ganahl, Martin Fleischer, Adrian Geiger, Ciprian Paltinisanu

Patent number: 10315682Abstract: A steering column may include a steering spindle mounted rotatably about its longitudinal axis in an inner casing tube. An outer casing unit in which the inner casing tube is held may be directly or indirectly connectable to a body of a motor vehicle. A clamping device in a fixing position affixes the outer casing unit relative to the inner casing tube. In a release position, the clamping device permits adjustment of the inner casing tube relative to the outer casing unit at least in a longitudinal direction. The clamping device may have at least one locking part for prohibiting or permitting movement between the inner casing tube and the outer casing unit. The inner casing tube and the outer casing unit may be coupled by an energy absorption device that has at least two energy absorption elements that are plastically deformed in the event of displacement between the inner casing tube and the outer casing unit.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2016Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignees: THYSSENKRUPP PRESTA AG, THYSSENKRUPP AGInventors: Thomas Agbor, Thomas Geiselberger, Johannes Ganahl, Martin Fleischer

Publication number: 20160082924Abstract: “Example steering-wheel locks may include a key receptacle for receiving a key in an insertion direction and at least one electrical switch to be actuated upon insertion of the key into the key receptacle in the insertion direction. The at least one electrical switch may include a switching element that is displaceable in at least one switching direction. Moreover, the steering-wheel lock may further include at least one blocking device for selectively blocking a steering spindle, the at least one blocking device being selectively actuatable by the key. The insertion direction and the at least one switching direction are positioned at an angle relative to one another, which in many cases is oblique.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2014Publication date: March 24, 2016Applicant: THYSSENKRUPP PRESTA AGInventors: Sascha FRICKE, Thomas GEISELBERGER, Martin FLEISCHER, Johannes GANAHL

Publication number: 20100065398Abstract: An electromagnetically operated clutch, in particular a friction clutch, for switching on and off units, such as a water pump, in a vehicle, having a predefined electrical system voltage, the clutch including an electromagnet with at least one coil, a rotor, an armature plate, which is attracted to the rotor by the forces of the electromagnet in order to engage the clutch, and control means. The control means, which, in respect of a continuous operating state, are designed for an operating voltage level, which is less than the available electrical system voltage of the vehicle, the control means being suited to switching the electromagnet with a voltage level for engagement of the friction clutch that is greater than operating voltage level and, by timing the supply voltage, to reducing it to the design operating voltage level for an operating phase when the clutch is continuously engaged.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2009Publication date: March 18, 2010Applicant: Licos Trucktec GmbHInventors: Rainer KRAFFT, Johannes Ganahl
