  • Patent number: 5241911
Abstract: A conveyor system includes a support rail with travel surfaces for driven support wheels of vehicles, such as suspended or elevated trolleys or the like. An additional rail is provided for additional wheels which apply contact pressure to the support wheels. Such a conveyor system with a plurality of vehicles and a small number of ascending and descending paths is simplified by supporting the additional rail directly or indirectly through springs on the support rail.

  • Patent number: 4909358
Abstract: A hoisting carriage (2) for a rail-track section (A) of a suspension rail installation can be lifted and lowered at two parallel hoisting columns (1). A motor (4), attached at a cross traverse (3), serves as a drive. The motor (4) drivers via its transmission shaft with two drive wheels (6), disposed on the shaft, for the pulling members (7), which are provided as roller chains. The roller chains are guided initially around upper and lower deflection pulleys (8), disposed freely rotatable on carrying axles, to a rocker. The rocker is supported with a hinged support or trunnion bearing at an oscillating crank (13). The rocker balances or adjusts different elongations and extensions of the pulling members (7). The oscillating crank (13) is supported with a pin bolt (14) at a carrier (15) of the hoisting carriage (2) and rests with the free end at an inclined position on a bumper 16 of the other carrier (15a).

  • Patent number: 4098036
Abstract: The station, including access stairs and elevator systems are supported by a single vertical girder to reduce the space requirement for the station in a crowded inner city. Various components of the station may be prefabricated and then joined together at the site to standardize and reduce construction costs, and to reduce construction interference at the station site.

  • Patent number: 4002125
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for supporting load bearing, sharply curved girders, particularly for use in a transportation system. The sharply curved girders are supported only at their ends, even for those of substantial length, so as to reduce the number of vertical supports for the girders. This is achieved by providing a relatively short cross-support for the girder extending from the vertical support through the girder at each end thereof, with that cross-support or console having one end bearing on the vertical support and the other end forming a portion of a pivot bearing positioned on the inside of the curve of the girder. A crossbeam rigidly connected to the vertical support also extends transversely of each girder end and forms the opposite portion of the pivot bearing. Thus, torsional forces tending to twist the outside of the curve of the girder downwardly under load is compensated by the pivot bearing which provides a twisting force in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4000700
Abstract: A rail guidance system is provided for railway vehicles using a combination of rimless support wheels running on horizontal surfaces, and guided by special opposed guide wheels and direction control wheels running on vertical surfaces on each side thereof in which the main vehicle guiding surfaces recede from their regular vertical plane in those areas where branch lines interconnect in the guidance system to avoid jamming of the guide wheels between the opposed main guiding surfaces and the auxiliary guide surfaces provided at such branch connections. The system includes additional cam control surfaces for camming the direction control wheels into engagement with auxiliary guide surfaces at the branch connections. The wheels of the invention, in addition, are comprised of lightweight materials such as aluminum, for example, or resins to reduce the degree of inertia involved when the wheels change direction of rotation from one guiding surface to another.
