The bottom has a cone- or prism-shape with an apical angle from about 80.degree. to about 100.degree. or the shape of a polyhedral pyramid whose opposing surfaces intersect at an angle between about 80.degree. and about 100.degree.. The apparatus permits speeded-up colorimetric determinations.
