  • Publication number: 20060234887
Abstract: A soap composition containing in the range from 60 to 99% by weight of the composition of a mixture of (i) 20 to 80% by weight of alkali metal soap of straight chain C8-C24 fatty acids, and (ii) 20 to 80% by weight of alkali metal soap of branched C8-C24 fatty acids, both based on the total weight of alkali metal soaps in the composition. The soap composition exhibits colour and odour stability without the requirement to include any additional stabilizers, preservatives or chelating agents normally present in soap.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 1, 2003
    Publication date: October 19, 2006
    Applicant: Unichema Chemie BV
Inventors: Peter Tollington, Johannes Helmond, J.C.M Helmond-Kuyf
  • Publication number: 20050277561
Abstract: A soap composition containing: (i) 50 to 90% by weight of alkali metal soap of C8-C24 fatty acids, (ii) 3 to 25% by weight of at least one polyol, (iii) 0.1 to 10% by weight of the potassium salt of a carboxylic acid and/or hydroxy carboxylic acid having 6 or less carbon atoms, and (iv) 5 to 25% by weight of water. The soap composition is particularly suitable for use in forming a translucent or transparent soap bar.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 14, 2004
    Publication date: December 15, 2005
Applicants: Imperial Chemical Industries PLC, Unichema Chemie B.V.
    Inventors: Joseph-Jeanne-Marie Hendrickx, Johannes Helmond
  • Patent number: 5736504
Abstract: A perfume or fragrance composition to be incorporated into translucent or transparent soap comprises a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched chain carboxylic acid having from 6 to 22 carbon atoms and at least one carboxyl group, preferably iso-stearic acid, as a translucency enhancer. The invention also relates to a process of preparing perfumed, translucent or transparent soap, and the soap thus obtained.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 24, 1996
Date of Patent: April 7, 1998
    Assignee: Unichema Chemie B.V.
Inventors: Xiao Guang Duan, Eric Jacques P. C. Dumas, Johannes Helmond
  • Patent number: 4508652
Abstract: A process is provided whereby high trimer content products are obtained by the polymerization of unsaturated fatty acids or lower alkyl esters thereof. The process entails heating the fatty acid/ester material at a temperature of at least 120.degree. C. in the presence of a sulphonic acid catalyst which is dissolved therein.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 23, 1982
Date of Patent: April 2, 1985
Assignee: National Distillers and Chemical Corporation
Inventors: Jacob van Dijk, Johannes W. Renken, Jan G. Dekker, Johannes Helmond
  • Patent number: 4004060
Abstract: This invention provides certain complex molecules which possess excellent solubility in water and excellent reactivity making them useful in the manufacture of non-woven products and processes for their preparation. The compositions are comprised of structural units derived from a higher polycarboxylic acid and about one mole of a di-epoxide per carboxyl group, about 0.5 to 1.5 moles of an alkoxy polyoxyalkylene compound and about 0.5 to 1.5 moles of an alkanolamine neutralized with a lower monocarboxylic acid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 4, 1975
Date of Patent: January 18, 1977
    Assignee: Emery Industries, Inc.
Inventors: Arie Dick Kardol, Johannes Helmond
