  • Patent number: 11298890
Abstract: A method for joining moulded parts by electromagnetic welding. A joining inductor is moved along contact surfaces of the moulded parts, generating an electromagnetic field in an induction-sensitive component of the moulded part(s) to heat a thermally activated coupling means of the moulded part(s) to above a melting temperature of the coupling means. The strength of the electromagnetic field suitable for joining is determined by previously moving a sensing inductor along the contact plane, generating a relatively weak electromagnetic field to slightly heat the thermally activated coupling means to a sensing temperature, measuring the field strength generated by the sensing inductor in the moulded part(s), determining a discrepancy between the measured field strength of the sensing inductor and the field strength suitable for joining, and adjusting the field strength suitable for joining to close the discrepancy. A device for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 9772487
Abstract: Techniques and architectures involving fabricating a display panel, such as an electro-wetting display panel include laminating a first support plate and a second support plate together to form a laminated display panel. The laminated display panel includes an ultra-violet (UV) light curable seal disposed between the first support plate and the second support plate proximate to edges of the laminated display panel. After conveying the laminated display panel to a UV light curing station, pressurized air, gas or fluid is applied to the laminated display panel to produce a pressure on the UV light curable seal between the first support plate and the second support plate. While applying the pressurized air, gas or fluid, the laminated display panel is exposed to UV light to cure the seal.

  • Patent number: 9645385
Abstract: An apparatus for fabricating electronic displays comprises a glass substrate that includes pixel arrays formed on the glass substrate. Individual pixels of the pixel arrays include pixel walls to retain a first fluid, such as oil. The pixel arrays may include an edge seal to retain a second fluid, such as an electrolyte solution, that overlays the pixel walls and the first fluid. The glass substrate also includes a hydrophobic strip formed on the glass substrate. A wettability between the first fluid and the hydrophobic strip is different from a wettability between the second fluid and the hydrophobic strip.

  • Publication number: 20080160599
Abstract: A unit for processing microbiological samples has a conveyor for transporting samples, for example in microtitre plates. At a processing station, samples for processing are transferred in their sample containers from the transport device to a processing device, which can have several processing areas, of which only one is ever in a processing position. A manipulating device is associated with the processing position. A magazine dispenses sample containers for processing. An incubator accumulates and discharges sample containers using transport and storage arrangements with coupleable conveyors on multiple levels.

  • Patent number: 7277947
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for supporting a plurality of activities which includes a plurality of terminals for interacting with said activities. The system allows the user to relocate activities from one terminal to another. The relocation can be simplified by means of a physical token representing the activity to be relocated. Terminals are coupled to receptacles for receiving the physical tokens. If a token is removed from a receptacle, the activity is associated with the token. If the token is inserted into another receptacle, the activity is resumed at the terminal coupled to the other receptacle.
