  • Patent number: 5184782
Abstract: A tube mill with a cylindrical jacket (1) terminating at each end in a conical wall (2). The wall merges into a neck (3). A tube (6) is accommodated at a radial interval in a stationary milling-stock intake-and-outlet housing (5). The tube is attached to the neck. The tube is surrounded by a feed screw (12). The screw's threads (13) are loosely attached to the tube. The screw is connected to a shaft (9). The shaft is mounted in a bearing (18) outside the mill. The object is to improve the suspension of the feed screw to the extent that the bearing will be able to accommodate eccentric rotation by, and sudden and uncontrolled stresses on, the screw along with axial displacements of the shaft. The housing (19) for the bearing is accordingly surrounded at a radial interval by a continuous ring (22). The housing rests against the ring by way of several tensioned springs (23) uniformly distributed around the circumference of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4545727
Abstract: A mill with an impeller in which blades are mounted between two disks, and each blade has a leading edge projecting into the cross-section of the inlet. The leading edge of every other one of the blades is perpendicular to the axis of the impeller, and the leading edge of the remaining blades on the impeller are skewed. The blades on the impeller alternate in sequence along the circumference of the impeller so that each blade with leading edge perpendicular to the impeller axis is adjacently neighbored on each side with blades having skewed leading edges. The alternative sequence of the blades reduce wear on the blades by a predetermined amount for increasing the operating life of the blades.

  • Patent number: 4161293
Abstract: A blower beater mill for grinding and drying, in which a rotor has a beater portion located on a mill shaft and a fan impeller. Beater arms of the beater portion are fastened between hub rings of the mill shaft. The shaft is, furthermore, water-cooled along its longitudinal axis, and shaft cams of the hub rings are enclosed at a distance by an outside jacket having cutouts for passage of the beater arms. The space between the outer jacket and the shaft cams of the hub rings may be filled with insulating material. The shaft cams of the hub rings may have also a heat-reflecting coating. The width of the cutouts may be greater than the width of the beater arms by the amount of maximum axial expansion of the outer jacket relative to the mill shaft. The outer jacket, moreover, is restricted to the portion of the beater part located underneath the mill intake, and reaches to the first row of the beater arms.
