  • Patent number: 4873828
Abstract: A method and apparatus for storing excess electricity generated during off-peak periods. The electricity is used to run compressors which compress the air in a plurality of stages. The air is cooled after each stage to remove the heat of enthalpy. The air is stored in bags on the bottom of the sea. To recover the energy, the compressed air is run through turbines and the heat removed during compression is reintroduced.

  • Patent number: 4729512
Abstract: An improved rocket nozzle liner for solid fuel rockets which is constructed from an inner liner of silicon carbide, a layer of highly anisotropic graphite and an outer shell of heat resistant material. The layer of anisotropic graphite permits thermal expansion of the silicon carbide, thus preventing the build up of thermal stresses and resulting fractures.

  • Patent number: 4710100
Abstract: The wind machine has at least two rotors fixed to a tower. The tower is rotatably supported by a foot bearing at its base and a second bearing positioned below a horizontal stud which supports a pair of rotor units. The second bearing is supported by guy wires and the rotor units can pivot about the stud axis. The wind machine is used to drive a pump and a plurality of wind machines can drive pumps in series or in parallel.
