Publication number: 20240090791Abstract: In a method for masking one or more regions surrounding an anatomical region of interest for each of one or more MRI images obtained from MRI imaging data, the one or more regions surrounding the anatomical region of interest are masked based on control data determined for identifying the anatomical region of interest in the MRI imaging data. The MRI imaging data may be obtained during an MRI exam of a patient for a measurement volume including the anatomical region of interest. The anatomical region of interest may be ascertained before performing the MRI exam.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 18, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicants: Siemens Healthcare GmbH, Dentsply Sirona Inc., SIRONA Dental Systems GmbHInventors: Andreas Greiser, Johannes Ulrici, Kim Burzan, Gunnar Krüger, Lars Lauer, Daniel Rinck, Carmel Hayes

Patent number: 11721096Abstract: An approach is provided for confirming road vector geometry based on aerial image(s). For example, the approach involves retrieving a feature and a vector representation of a road link. The approach also involves processing one or more aerial images depicting the road link to extract a list of spectral pixel values corresponding to the vector representation. The approach further involves determining a degree of misalignment between the spectral pixel values and a spectral signature of the feature of the road link. The approach further involves initiating a confirmation of a geometry of the vector representation based on the degree of misalignment. The approach further involves providing the confirmation as an output.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2021Date of Patent: August 8, 2023Assignee: HERE Global B.V.Inventors: Johannes Lauer, Jerome Beaurepaire

Patent number: 11580080Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided to cross-check the reliability of data. Referring to one of the methods, the cross-checking includes receiving a client request containing data in the form of geographic-related information associated with a location. The method also includes determining one or more knowledge providers to determine one or more confidence levels for the data of the client request based on a type of the geographic-related information at the specific location. The method further includes causing the transmission of at least some of the geographic-related information the client request to the one or more knowledge providers. The method still further includes determining one or more confidence levels of the geographic-related information based on a comparison of the geographic-related information and a known resource associated the specific location. A corresponding apparatus and additional method are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2019Date of Patent: February 14, 2023Assignee: HERE Global B.V.Inventors: Johannes Lauer, Till Kraft

Patent number: 8944087Abstract: A drainage device for placement on a housing includes an external plug component and a liquid expandable component. The external plug component has a first cap section and a second attachment section. The first cap section is positionable over an exterior side of a housing wall. The first attachment section is adapted to attach the drainage device to an opening in the housing wall. The liquid expandable component contacts the external plug component and is adapted to contact a structure within the housing when the drainage device is placed on the housing. Characteristically, the liquid expandable component has a higher volume when contacted with liquid than when dry. The liquid expandable component pushes the internal plug component away from the structure within the housing when the liquid expandable component transitions from a non-liquid-containing state to a liquid containing state thereby providing a path for liquid to escape.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2013Date of Patent: February 3, 2015Assignee: GM Global Technology Operations LLCInventors: Jurgen Thyroff, Johannes Lauer

Patent number: 8605916Abstract: The adjustment of a hearing device is to be improved and configured in a more user-friendly fashion. To this end, a method is proposed whereby the hearing device is set individually to the user and is inserted at least partially into the auditory canal of the user. Finally an in-situ measurement of the acoustic impedance of the auditory system of the user including at least part of the auditory canal of the user is implemented with a tympanometric method. An automatic correction of the individual setting of the hearing device can take place on the basis of the results of the in-situ measurement.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2011Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Assignee: Siemens Medical Instruments Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Dirk Junius, Johannes Lauer, Matthias Müller-Wehlau

Publication number: 20100226516Abstract: A method for operating a hearing apparatus includes determining feedback events, in which feedback suppression responds and/or in which feedback is detected above a predeterminable feedback threshold value, determining a frequency of the feedback events within a predeterminable duration and emitting a signal if the determined frequency exceeds a predeterminable frequency threshold value. A time instant for changing an earmold which is no longer optimally positioned and is the cause of a frequent feedback can therefore be advantageously predicted in a timely manner. A computer program product for implementing the method and a hearing apparatus with acoustic feedback suppression and/or acoustic feedback identification, are also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2010Publication date: September 9, 2010Applicant: SIEMENS MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS PTE. LTD.Inventors: Alexander Grafenberg, Johannes Lauer

Publication number: 20070065690Abstract: A thermal sub-system for a fuel cell system that uses pump characteristics to determine a required cooling fluid volume flow. An algorithm controls the speed of the pump to provide the desired volume flow of the cooling fluid for the system parameters. The algorithm determines a motor efficiency value based on a pump input power value and a pump speed value. The algorithm then determines a coefficient of power value based on the motor efficiency value, the pump input power value and the pump speed value. The algorithm then uses a look-up table to convert the coefficient of power value to a coefficient of flow value. The algorithm then calculates the volume flow based on the coefficient of flow value and the pump speed value.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 15, 2005Publication date: March 22, 2007Inventors: Sascha Schaefer, Johannes Lauer, Thomas Weispfenning, Peter Willimowski, Rolf Isermann, Oliver Maier
