  • Patent number: 7698874
Abstract: Apparatus for making gas-filled filling bodies includes a supply reel for storing a pre-fabricated half-tubular plastic film having an at least partially open border side and being divided into individual pockets by weld seams which extend transversally with respect to a transport direction of the plastic film. Positioned downstream of the reel and receiving the plastic film from the reel is a gas filling device for blowing air into the pockets. Positioned downstream of the gas filling device and receiving the plastic film from the gas filling device is a welding tool for welding the open border side of the plastic film for formation of closed filling bodies. The transport of the film through the apparatus is realized by a drive unit which applies a force upon the plastic film essentially downstream of the gas filling device, as viewed in the transport direction.

  • Patent number: 6952910
Abstract: In a plastic tube (1) for the production of gas filled bodies, with two superimposed sheets, connected in a gas tight manner to each other along a first longitudinal edge thereof, the upper sheet (2) and the lower sheet (3) are welded together in the transverse direction along gas tight welded seams (5a,5b), arranged in pairs at a separation from each other, in order to form inflatable pockets (7), which seams extend from the first longitudinal edge (4) to a point at a predetermined separation from the opposing second longitudinal edge (6). The pockets each present, between the upper sheet and the lower sheet, a gas filling opening (8) which is accessible from the second longitudinal edge. Also proposed are a method for the production of gas filled bodies using such plastic tubes and a device for carrying out said method.

  • Patent number: 6946044
Abstract: A plastic tube is prefabricated for producing gas-filled filling bodies. The tube comprises an upper film and a lower film which are connected together in superposed relationship along both of their longitudinal edges. The upper film is divided in its center by a longitudinal cut, thus forming upstanding flaps on both sides of the cut. The films are also subdivided into individual pockets by weld seams extending in the transverse direction of the tube at a spacing from each other. The tube can be filled by introducing a filling gas under the film flaps, the open ends of the pockets being closed after they have been inflated in that way.

  • Patent number: 5103620
Abstract: In a method of fitting successively supplied flat articles such as slide frames into insertion pockets in a receiving case, the pockets are arranged in the receiving case in pluralities in juxtaposed relationship and in succession in rows and are accessible from one side of the receiving case. The upper edge of the pockets is formed by a bar portion which extends over a plurality of pockets in a row and can be pivoted upwardly relative to the side walls of the pockets. The articles are fed in groups to the article-insertion location from a feed direction which is transverse with respect to the direction of transportation movement of the receiving case, with the number of articles supplied in a group in that way corresponding at a maximum to the number of insertion pockets for receiving same. An edge part of the bar portion is first lifted and held in the lifted position and the articles in the group are then pushed under the bar portion which they fully lift up, and into the respective pockets.

  • Patent number: 4367619
Abstract: Apparatus for stacking flat-shaped articles such as slide frames including article conveyor means. A container is adapted for receiving successive articles from the conveyor. The container is mounted in a receiver with height control means for the position of the container in the receiver, a pusher member extends into the container and is selectively vertically movable to depress the container and articles therein by downward contacting movement on articles stacked therein, and to an elevated position to permit succeeding articles to be deposited from the conveyor means onto the stack of articles in the container. Accelerating means serve to eject successive articles from the conveyor means into the container. A stopper is provided to limit downward movement of the container in the receiver. The stopper is pivotally mounted to permit removal of a filled container from the receiver.

  • Patent number: 4217820
Abstract: In an apparatus for printing characters on film mounts or slides, a computer-controlled needle printer is provided for printing on the slides as they are moved continuously past the printer. Elastic guide members guide the slides past the printer without interference. The needles of the needle printer are individually triggered in accordance with character data keyboard entered into a programmable memory. A read-only memory contains character data that are transferred to the programmable memory in response to operation of the keyboard. An intermediate memory is included at the keyboard to invert the character data (first in-last out) when the slides are turned around and reentered into the printer for printing characters on the reverse side of the slides. The intermediate memory is responsive to a limit switch that sense the presence of a slot formed in one side of each slide.

  • Patent number: 4058308
Abstract: An apparatus for stacking transparency frames, or other substantially flat articles, comprises a rotating cam body located between a feed-in arrangement and a receivng arrangement. The cam body is synchronized to the movement of the transparency frames on the feed-in arrangement, and guides the frames into a receiving shaft that forms a portion of the receiving arrangement. The rotating cam body provides continuous guidance to the transparency frames during movement between the feed-in and receiving arrangements. As a result, breakdowns during stacking are minimized. In one embodiment, the receiving arrangement is disposed transversely with respect to the feed-in arrangement. The cam body comprises a pair of cam discs having a circular sector configuraion. The arc length of the sector is synchronized to the spacing between the transparency frames on the feed-in arrangement. In a second embodiment, the feed-in arrangement and receiving arrangement are located in line to each other.

  • Patent number: 4013193
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing individual planar, non-circular, uniform, articles, such as image projection slides, slide mounts or the like, from a stack of such articles, comprises a delivery shaft containing an aperture having a cross-section shaped to receive the stacked articles. A dispensing arrangement, located below the shaft, includes a rotary valve supported by a base member. The rotary valve and base member each contains an aperture corresponding in shape to, and coaxial with, the delivery shaft aperture. The apertures contained respectively in the delivery shaft and base member are angularly displaced relative to each other such that a stack of articles, placed in the shaft is supported by portions of the base member exposed through the shaft aperture. The rotary valve has a thicknesss less than or equal to the thickness of each of the articles, and is rotatable by means of a lever arm for orientation of the rotary valve aperture with either the delivery shaft aperture or base member aperture.
