  • Patent number: 6565388
Abstract: A shielded cable connector (20) which minimizes EMI and crosstalk between closely situated assembly modules is disclosed. The shielded cable connector comprises a connecting latch (28). The shielded cable connector facilitates insertion of the shielding housing (20) into a shielded header connector (24), and prevents inadvertent removal of the shielding housing (20) from the shielded header (24).

  • Patent number: 6139366
Abstract: A latch member (52) for coupling a connector (48) and header (44) together to provide an electrical connector assembly. The latch member (52) comprises an elongated member (60) having a first end (62) and a second end (64). A fastening segment (68), which can securely engage an outer wall of a header to assist in securing the latch member in an operating position, is intergrally coupled near the second end. At least one latch element, adapted to securely engage and immobilize the connector element in cooperation with the header, is integrally coupled near the first end. The latch member also functions as an electrical shield for the header and the mating connector.

  • Patent number: 5011425
Abstract: A connector assembly (1,45;2) comprising a plug-in connector (1,45) and a socket connector (2). The plug-in connector (1,45) is provided with a lever-type locking element (5;15;25;40) having two free ends. At one free end an outwardly projecting pawl-type latching element (8;18;28;41) is disposed, while the other free end is designed as a gripping end (5';15';25';40'). The socket connector (2) is provided with a slot-type opening or recess (9), so that when the plug-in connector (1,45) is pushed into and mates with the socket connector (2), the latching element (8;18;28;41) engages the slot-type opening or recess (9), from the inside (2') of the socket connector (2), thereby latching the connectors (1,45;2).
