  • Patent number: 7357474
Abstract: A method of controlling an inkjet printhead containing a substantially closed duct in which ink is situated, said duct having at least one exit opening for the ink, wherein an actuation pulse is applied to an electro-mechanical transducer so that the pressure in the duct changes in such a manner than an ink drop is ejected from the exit opening, wherein the method further comprises: measuring the electric impedance of the electromechanical transducer and adapting the actuation pulse on the basis of the measured impedance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 3, 2003
Date of Patent: April 15, 2008

  • Patent number: 6926388
Abstract: A method of controlling an inkjet printhead with a substantially closed duct in which ink is disposed, which duct has an exit opening for the ink, the method including the actuation of an electromechanical transducer so that the pressure the duct changes in such a manner that an ink drop is ejected from the exit opening, said pressure causing a deformation of the transducer, whereby after the end of the actuation, an electric signal generated by the transducer is measured as a result of the deformation, wherein a subsequent actuation of the transducer is adapted to the measured signal.

  • Patent number: 6910751
Abstract: A method of controlling an inkjet printer containing at least two substantially closed ducts in which ink is present, which includes actuating an electro-mechanical transducer whereby the pressure in a first duct is increased, and a pressure change in another duct is also generated by said actuation, whereby an electro-mechanical transducer is deformed as a result of the pressure change, said electrical transducer generating an electrical signal, and measuring the electric signal.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6682162
Abstract: A printing apparatus including at least one ink duct provided with an electromechanical transducer, a driver circuit provided with a pulse generator and operatively associated with the transducer to energize the transducer, a measuring circuit operatively associated with the transducer for measuring an electrical signal generated by the transducer in response to energizing by the pulse generator, a device for breaking the circuits in such a manner so that when the drive circuit is open, the measuring circuit is closed, wherein measurement of the electrical signal takes place when the printing apparatus is in a printing mode.

  • Patent number: 6435672
Abstract: A method of increasing the reliability of an inkjet printer containing at least one pressure chamber provided with a nozzle for jetting ink drops therefrom and wherein when a disturbance in the pressure chamber is detected, the jetting of the ink drops is interrupted for a predetermined period of time. During this “waiting time” no active restoration operations are carried out, but rather the pressure chamber is left on its own to re-establish its normal operating condition prior to resuming the jetting of the ink drops from the nozzle.
