  • Publication number: 20120135169
Abstract: In a first aspect, the invention thus pertains to thermoplastic processable compositions (base compositions) comprising one or more flours, one or more polymers, optionally plasticizers, optionally fillers and optionally additives, characterized in that at least one of the polymers is present in the form of its water-redispersible polymer powder or as aqueous polymer dispersion, whereby the compositions contain less than 12% by weight of polyvinyl alcohol, based on the total amount of polymeric components of the composition.

  • Publication number: 20060286264
Abstract: The invention relates to a moisture-barrier coating layer for foods, to a method for applying such a coating layer to a food, and to a food provided with such a coating layer. According to the invention, it has been found that transport of water between components with a different moisture content in a composite food can be prevented, at least inhibited, by using a coating layer between the two components, which coating layer is based on an acetoglyceride or mixture of acetoglycerides in which a particular, minimum amount of shortchain fatty acids is present.
