  • Patent number: 4732562
Abstract: A device for use in thawing frozen car locks comprises a tube (10) of a heat insulating material having a plug support at one end; axial holes through the plug support; a flat, axially projecting plug (13) extending from the plug support designed to be inserted into and to essentially fill the keyhole of the lock; and a raised lip on the plug end formed with a plurality of through-going, radial cuts (15). When the projection is inserted into the keyhole in a frozen lock, and expiration air is blown into the other end of the tube, this air gives off its heat to the outer side of the lock before flowing through the openings without itself penetrating into the lock. The heat, on the other hand, is conducted into the lock and melts ice formed therein.

  • Patent number: 4647093
Abstract: A safety latch assembly has a rotatable grip rotatably mounted on a stationary handle and a ring-shaped flange surrounding a substantially cylindrical portion of the stationary handle, an elastically resilient arresting means on the cylindrical portion whose exterior is formed with an arresting face with which a stop face on the inner side of the grip flange engages upon rotation of the grip in the opening direction from the closed position when the arresting means is in the normal position. The grip is arranged so that the arresting means can be actuated through the flange of the grip to disengage the arresting face from the stop face.

  • Patent number: 4456136
Abstract: A safety closure, preferably for a medicine bottle, has a screw cap (20) or another closure cap which is to be rotated to be applied or removed, and a blocking mechanism in the form of an elastically resilient blocking means (16) on the bottle neck (11) or a collar securely mounted on the neck, and a stop face (26) on the closure cap. The cap has an area (27) of reduced wall thickness which is opposite the blocking means in the closed position and permits the blocking means to be actuated by external pressure on the cap. When the cap is rotated in the direction of removal from the closed position, the stop face encounters the blocking means and prevents additional rotation, unless the blocking means is pressed clear of the stop face by pressure on said area of the closure cap.

  • Patent number: 4432046
Abstract: A protective casing (20) for a lamp holder (10) for outdoor use comprises a cylindrical part (21) and a bowl-shaped base part (22) which are made of a relatively soft, elastic material and can be clamped axially together around an ordinary lamp holder (10). The engagement faces between the two parts are formed with radial recesses (27), which together form a hole for the lead-in of a cable and are dimensioned so that the cable is fixed upon the clamping. This provides a seal for the cable lead-in and also tension relief of the cable. Due to the clamping, a sealing ring (25) for the lamp (14, 15) is fixed between an end edge of the holder (10) and a rim flange (26) of the cylindrical part (21).

  • Patent number: 4172532
Abstract: A closure assembly for a bottle or container which has a cylindrical neck portion and a lid with a skirt. The lid skirt is detachably fitted to the neck portion by cooperating beads on it and a cylindrical collar which is securely mounted on the neck portion by transverse members. The collar is disposed at a radial distance from the neck portion and encloses at least part of the skirt. The transverse members are adapted to cooperate in a camming manner with one or more projections on the skirt so that turning of the fitted lid relatively to the neck portion results in an axial displacement of the lid. The lid is constructed to be turned by an implement such as a T-shaped handle key or a coin. For this a slot can be provided disposed along a diameter. The inside of the lid can be formed with projecting wall members defining an inwardly closed cavity around the slot with shape of a narrow cylindrical section.
