Abstract: Mining machines such as continuous miners and chain haulage units may include chain conveyors that are capable of deflecting laterally in order to travel through lateral turns. The chain conveyors may include flight members for pushing or urging material along a pan. The chain may be driven by one or more sprockets. In one independent aspect, a link for a chain conveyor includes a body including a first end a second end opposite the first end, a first opening proximate the first end and extending in a direction transverse to a direction of travel of the link, a second opening proximate the second end and extending in a direction transverse to the direction of travel of the link, and a relief opening extending through the link body and positioned between the first end and the second end.

Abstract: A process for gasifying a carbonaceous particulate feedstock includes dividing the carbonaceous particulate feedstock into at least two feedstock fractions, each feedstock fraction including particulate material within a predetermined particle size range so that there are at least a smaller particle size feedstock and a larger particle size feedstock. The smaller particle size feedstock is fed to at least one gasifier and the larger particle size feedstock is fed to at least one other gasifier.

Abstract: A railway truck assembly for performing a number of functions of repair, maintenance, replacement and other railway-orientated functions has a pair of trucks joined by one or more longitudinal beams which support hoists; the beam is pivoted for angular horizontal movement to accommodate curves in the track during transit and the beam having a length which spans a working space between the trucks and for the hoists to lift or deposit items or material from either or both trucks and transfer them to or from the working space.
