  • Patent number: 7123632
Abstract: In a laser beam source for projecting laser pulses, having a laser-active medium (10), a controllable pump device (11) for exciting the medium (10), a resonator (13) for inducing oscillation of the medium (10), which resonator has an end mirror (14) and an output mirror (15) with an orientation axially parallel to the medium (10), for the sake of projecting laser pulses of constant pulse energy immediately upon release of the laser beam source, one of the resonator mirrors (14) is pivotably supported and is pivoted out of its resonator position and back into its resonator position by an actuator (19) at selectable times (FIG. 1).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 2001
Date of Patent: October 17, 2006
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
    Inventors: Johannes Wais, Thomas Wawra
  • Patent number: 7022941
Abstract: A device for introducing holes into a workpiece has a laser beam source for producing at least one laser beam which may be directed toward the workpiece. A nozzle system is provided having at least one nozzle which may have a gas under pressure applied to it, the gas flow exiting the nozzle being aligned in relation to the workpiece surface in such a way that molten particles detached from the workpiece are guided away from the hole produced by the laser beam.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 9, 2002
Date of Patent: April 4, 2006
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Bertrand Joseph, Johannes Wais, Gert Callies, Ulrich Graf, Beatrice Gebhard, Andreas Dauner
  • Publication number: 20050006362
Abstract: A device (1) for introducing holes into a workpiece (3) has a laser beam source for producing at least one laser beam (9) which may be directed toward the workpiece (3). A nozzle system (13) is provided having at least one nozzle (15; 17; 19) which may have a gas under pressure applied to it, the gas flow (23; 25; 27) exiting the nozzle (15; 17; 19) being aligned in relation to the workpiece surface in such a way that molten particles detached from the workpiece (3) are guided away from the hole produced by the laser beam (9).
