Patent number: 11519900Abstract: A method for synchronizing data for gas samples with volatile organic compounds. The data includes chromatographic data indicative of molecule retention times. The method includes identifying or selecting marker molecules and clustering the plurality of gas samples into a plurality of clusters according to a clustering criterion. Next, a first correction of retention time deviations is performed on the data for the gas samples between clusters by using the marker molecules as anchor points to provide a coarse reduction of retention time deviations between the data. Finally, a second correction of retention time deviations is performed on the data, so as to further reduce retention time deviations between the data. The method reduces significant retention time deviations to allow, e.g., breath sample fingerprints obtained by different equipment at different times to be compared in one database for use on a digital platform.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2018Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Johannes Weda, Teunis Johannes Vink, Hugo Hubertus Knobel, Tamara Mathea Elisabeth Nijsen

Patent number: 11054412Abstract: Exhaled breath analysis in health and disease is an area of growing clinical interest with the potential to be adopted through the whole respiratory healthcare continuum. However, currently there is no standard for exhaled breath collection, and the optimal way to preconcentrate the highly humid exhaled breath is not known. Described is an optimized combination of sorbent materials and sample handling methods that allows quantitative capturing of exhaled molecules over a broad range in highly humid conditions. The invention can be applied in pre-concentration units of future devices for exhaled breath analysis, for example at the bedside.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2016Date of Patent: July 6, 2021Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Hugo Hubertus Knobel, Ruud Johannes Theodorus Soers, Tamara Mathea Elisabeth Nijsen, Johannes Weda

Patent number: 11016066Abstract: A gas analysis device suited for e.g. medical analysis of exhaled breath from a subject. A gas inlet receives a gas sample to a flow path for guiding the gas sample to two or more gas separators, e.g. gas chromatography columns, with respective molecule selectivity properties which are different. One or more detectors, each with a sensor, are arranged to generate respective responses to outputs from the two or more gas separators. A communication module generate output data in response to the respective responses from the one or more detectors, e.g. data indicative of selected molecules in the gas sample, e.g. data indicative of one or more diseases identified as a result of identified biomarkers in the gas sample. The device is suitable as a compact device, e.g. a handheld breath analysis device, since the use of a plurality of gas separators allows use of very molecule specific gas separators which can be implemented with a small size. Publication number: 20140089024Abstract: The present invention relates to a control device for providing a recommendation for at least one physical environment for an activity and for providing a recommendation for at least one activity in a physical environment. Such a control device is suitable for users working in flexible office environments and can thus be used for easily locating spaces that suit the users' needs for the current work task. Using historical data mined from embedded sensors in the offices in conjunction with a user's preferences as to how he likes a location to be, a suitability rating can be generated in real time. This enables users to find locations that can suit not only their tangible needs (i.e. luminaires, furniture, equipment, windows etc.) but also their intangible and personal needs (i.e. temperature, light level, busyness, noise levels, humidity, activity etc.).Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2012Publication date: March 27, 2014Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Jonathan David Mason, Dzmitry Viktorovich Aliakseyeu, Dirk Valentinus René Engelen, Johannes Weda, Aaron Robert Houssian

Patent number: 8649660Abstract: It is quite common for users to have both video and photo material that refer to the same event. Adding photos to home videos enriches the content. However, just adding still photos to a video sequence has a disturbing effect. The invention relates to a method to seamlessly integrate photos into the video by creating a virtual camera motion in the photo that is aligned with the estimated camera motion in the video. A synthesized video sequence is created by estimating a video camera motion in the video sequence at an insertion position in the video sequence at which the still photo is to be included, creating a virtual video sequence of sub frames of the still photo where the virtual video sequence has a virtual camera motion correlated to the video camera motion at the insertion position.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2009Date of Patent: February 11, 2014Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Francesco Emanuele Bonarrigo, Marco Emanuele Campanella, Mauro Barbieri, Johannes Weda

Patent number: 8595266Abstract: A method of suggesting accompaniment tracks for synchronised rendering with a content data item includes obtaining data descriptive of the content data item. A database query based at least partly on the data descriptive of the content data item to identify auxiliary content items to a user is resolved. The database (14;28) includes records, each configured to associate descriptive data with an auxiliary content data item for forming an accompaniment track. Data representative of a selection of an auxiliary content data item is received in association with the query, and a database record for the selected auxiliary content data item is caused to be amended to reflect the selection in association with at least part of the descriptive data included in the query.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2009Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Mauro Barbieri, Johannes Weda
