Publication number: 20090158633Abstract: The present invention relates to a picture display object, and an object of the invention is to display a painting and a photograph without storing them in the picture frame accompanied with a three-dimensional effect, which is more enhanced than the case where they are stored in a picture frame. An exposed portion of the surface is provided with a first layer made of a flat plate having an image of the painting or the photograph drawn thereon. By superposing on a part of the first layer, a second layer having the image of the painting or the photograph drawn on the exposed portion of the surface is provided. The second layer has a contour to conform to the contour of the physical object included in the painting or the photograph drawn therein, and is formed of a transparent flat plate whose peripheral edge portion is transparent.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2008Publication date: June 25, 2009Inventor: Johji Mamiya

Patent number: 5479073Abstract: To generate a dot clock for a liquid crystal display device from a horizontal sync signal with reduced skew, a phase locked loop (PLL) is divided into three functional parts. The first part generates a particular frequency by supplying voltage from a latch type DAC (digital/analog converter) to a VCO (voltage controller oscillator). A horizontal sync signal is estimated from the dot clock signal that is finally generated and the output value of the DAC is increased or decreased in accordance with the difference between this estimated horizontal sync signal and the actual horizontal sync signal. This increase or decrease correction is made at, for example, the vertical sync timing. The second part achieves synchronization. A signal corresponding to the phase error between the actual horizontal sync signal and the dot clock signal is added to the signal from the DAC to control the phase of the dot clock.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1994Date of Patent: December 26, 1995Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Johji Mamiya, Hironari Nishino, Kohnji Ishii

Patent number: 4789954Abstract: Assuming that a given equation representing a quadratic curve is:F(x, y)=ax.sup.2 +bxy+cy.sup.2 +dx+ey+f=0,the method for generating quadratic curve signals repeatedly selects a point close to F (x, y)=0 in only one of either the region of F (x,y).gtoreq.0 or the region of F (x,y)<0. This method allows to generate quadratic curve signals by using only a few parameters and without using complicated calculations. A hardware implementation is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1986Date of Patent: December 6, 1988Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Hideaki Iida, Johji Mamiya, Yutaka Morimoto
