    Abstract: Means for cleaning a band of flexible tape as it moves from a supply reel to a takeup reel in a predetermined path of travel. Included is a pair of cleaning heads 20 and 22 which are engageable with opposite sides of the tape. The heads are initially located in inoperative positions relative to the path of travel. Means 30 and 34 are provided for moving the heads into engagement with the tape to apply cleaning action as it moves from the supply reel to the takeup reel. The heads include wiping surfaces 64 of spun plastic material.
