  • Publication number: 20140129489
Abstract: A method described herein includes receiving a digital image, wherein the digital image includes a first element that corresponds to a first domain and a second element that corresponds to a second domain. The method also includes automatically assigning a label to the first element in the digital image based at least in part upon a computed probability that the label corresponds to the first element, wherein the probability is computed through utilization of a first model that is configured to infer labels for elements in the first domain and a second model that is configured to infer labels for elements in the second domain. The first model receives data that identifies learned relationships between elements in the first domain and elements in the second domain, and the probability is computed by the first model based at least in part upon the learned relationships.

  • Patent number: 8665987
Abstract: The present invention relates to space-time or space-frequency coding in cellular systems. The same data is transmitted from different antennas with different coverage areas, corresponding to different cells. The different data streams have different parts of the space-time block codes applied. A mobile terminal can combine the different parts of the space-time block codes in different received signals. This provides better performance than the known techniques for single frequency networks. The invention can also be applied to antennas with different coverage areas from the same site, and different beams formed with antenna arrays.

  • Publication number: 20140044210
Abstract: The present invention relates to the signaling of channel quality information in a multi-beam transmission system, wherein a plurality of beams are simultaneously transmitted and a plurality of sets of channel quality information are transmitted for controlling independently the transmission rate on the different beams. Determined are beams with a different quality resulting in different effects of errors in the transmissions of the channel quality information for the beams. Said different effects are exploited for reducing a signaling overhead of the channel quality information for the beams.

  • Publication number: 20140019550
Abstract: A server-based system is provided for analyzing and valuating social media campaign performance. The system collects online traffic data from member users of a social media channel, and tracks engagement activity with respect to a social media campaign operating on the channel according to parameters defined with respect to specific activities including: user interactions with media content of the campaign; user transactions as non-commercial data exchanges or commercial purchases conducted via the campaign; and user sharing of the campaign with other member users of the social media channel. The system establishes baseline performance thresholds and aggregates the tracked engagement activity with respect to the defined parameters. A graphical user interface is generated to display client feedback related to a comparison of the aggregated engagement activity with the established baseline performance thresholds for each of the defined parameters.

  • Patent number: 8540177
Abstract: In one aspect, the invention is directed to a vertical feed mixer including a hopper for holding a composition to be mixed that contains strands of feed material. A vertically oriented mixing member is positioned in the hopper, wherein the mixing member includes a helical member and a shaft and is rotatable about a vertical axis in a direction to promote an upward flow of the composition to be mixed proximate the shaft. The helical member has an outer helical edge, a cutting blade at the outer helical edge and a cutout at the outer helical edge. The cutout and the cutting blade cooperate with each other to reduce mixing power consumption and improve mixing action.

  • Patent number: 8520750
Abstract: The present invention provides a transmission method and apparatus for cancelling inter-carrier interference in wireless communication systems. Particular carriers are not used for data transmission but carry weighted data to cancel the ici interference of a first group of interfering sub-carriers onto a second group of victim sub-carriers. The weights are inversely proportional to the frequency offset between the interfering sub-carriers and the victim sub-carriers.

  • Publication number: 20130204608
Abstract: An image in a web page may be annotated after deriving information about an image when the image may be displayed on multiple web pages. The web pages that show the image may be analyzed in light of each other to determine metadata about the image, then various additional content may be added to the image. The additional content may be hyperlinks to other webpages. The additional content may be displayed as annotations on top of the images and in other manners. Many embodiments may perform searching, analysis, and classification of images prior to the web page being served.
