Abstract: A license plate frame assembly is disclosed as consisting of a one-piece frame member which may be fabricated of a molded plastic material, a die stamped metal or the like; the frame is of a generally rectangular configuration and has a frontal wall that provides a decorative face which may be provided with a hot stamped complementary decorated surface. The frame member also includes rearwardly projecting inner and outer enclosure walls and is adapted to be connected to the associated license plate by having the upper edge of the license plate received within a recess formed along the rearward side of the upper section of the frame member. The recess may be formed by integral rearwardly extending ribs or alternatively by means of a resilient clip secured to the frame. The lower edge of the license plate is also adapted to be secured within a recess located along the bottom section of the frame member, which recess is provided by a removable clip or by integral ribs.

Abstract: A carrier for luggage or the like is mounted on a vehicle body. The carrier consists of separate load supporting slats each of which has an upwardly facing groove running lengthwise thereof. The slats are made from roll formed sheet steel and their grooves provide means for securing adjustable tie-down members or other article securing devices on the slats. Decorative and protective plastic strips are also fitted in the slat grooves.

Abstract: A luggage rack in which the luggage supporting platform consists of parallel load supporting slats mounted on the vehicle roof by means of cross straps. The cross straps have resilient clips which snap fit into the undersides of the slats to hold the slats to the cross straps. The cross straps are made in two sections with an adjusting screw between them. The adjusting screw permits the tensioning of the cross straps after they are mounted on the vehicle to draw the slats tight against the roof.
