  • Patent number: 11951365
Abstract: A shim or badge is affixed to a golf club body to produce a cap-back iron, giving the appearance of a hollow-body iron. In this way, the golf club can be manufactured with the performance benefits of a game improvement iron, while providing the appearance of a blade, player's iron, and/or a hollow-body iron. For example, by using a lightweight and rigid shim or badge to close a cavity opening and extend into the toe portion in the golf club body, the golf club head can provide increased stiffness in the topline, while lowering CG. Various shim or badge arrangements and materials can be used, and a filler material and/or damper can be included within the cavity to improve sound and feel, while minimizing loss in COR.

  • Patent number: 7524056
Abstract: An eyeglass structure includes a lens frame and a pair of articulated temples mounted by a respective first hinge pin to one and the other side of the frame, the temples rotating relative to the pin and about a first axis towards and away from one another. The articulated temples each include forward and rearward sections having mating portions that are frictionally engaged and a second hinge pin that connects the sections together for rotation about a second axis, transverse to the first axis thereof, and between a first in use position, wherein the lenses and frame are in position with the eyes, and a stored second position, wherein the lenses and frame are moved up and away from the eyes and seated on the forehead. The second hinge pin operates to increase the frictional gripping force between the mating portions to maintain the sections in a desired angle to one another.

  • Patent number: 5072247
Abstract: A device is provided for remotely controlling an electrically activated unit, such as a camera or appliance receptacle, by utilizing a conventional infrared transmitter. The device includes an infrared detector for detecting an infrared signal pulse from the conventional transmitter and which produces an electrical output pulse signal for each detected infrared pulse. A counter counts the output signal pulses from the infrared detector while a timer periodically resets the counter to zero. Whenever the count in the counter exceeds a predetermined number before being reset by the timer, an output signal is generated which activates the remote unit. The counter and the timer thus prevent unintended activation of the remote unit by ambient infrared radiation.
