  • Patent number: 4644991
Abstract: A window cornice assembly including two spaced cornice terminals, two shade retaining brackets, and a tapestry cover assembly including a replaceable spring-loaded cartridge and a tapestry cover. The tapestry cover is an elongated sheet of material having two ends. The first end is attached to the spring-loaded cartridge and can be rolled up around the cartridge. The second, or free, end includes a fastening member. One of the cornice terminals includes brackets for rotatably receiving the spring-loaded cartridge. The other cornice terminal includes a receiving member to which the fastening member can be attached. The cartridge is inserted in the brackets and the tapestry cover pulled around the terminals until the fastening member is attached to the receiving member. The cartridge is easily removable from the brackets so that different cartridges containing different designs can be substituted as desired. The shade retaining brackets are attached to each terminal.

  • Patent number: 4175294
Abstract: An improved toilet construction uses a bulbous upwardly rounded portion at the forward end of a toilet seat to raise the user's thighs angularly upward from a horizontal position and an angled foot engaging means at the lower forward portion of the toilet bowl to raise the user's feet angularly upwardly from a horizontal disposition. The combination of the upwardly rounded portion and the foot engaging means causes the user's feet to be disposed at an angle between about 30.degree. and about 60.degree. with respect to the floor and causes the user's legs to assume a position where the angle between the user's calf and thigh is between about 40.degree. and about 50.degree..

  • Patent number: 4050388
Abstract: A known form of refuse treatment apparatus, such as that disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 3,405,873, is improved by directing the non-pulverized refuse material emerging from the treatment drum to a furnace combusts the same. The heat of combustion is directed to a steam generating unit to thus create a supply of steam. One portion of the steam supply is directed to a steam turbine which serves as a power means for rotating the refuse drum. The other portion of the steam supply is introduced into the inlet end of the drum to admix with the refuse material being fed thereinto. The non-pulverized refuse material emerging from the outlet end of the drum can pass through a series of treatment steps as disclosed in my U.S. Pat. No. 3,802,631 in transit to the furnace.
