    Abstract: Simplified single cell fluid flow apparatus for flotation removal of suspended impurities and liquids are provided wherein the method and apparatus are directed to an induced gas liquid coalescer for flotation separation of suspended impurities. The apparatus provides for a separation vessel which can be fabricated to withstand internal pressure requirements experienced in flotation separation devices wherein the apparatus induces maximum gas volumes consistent with optimum mass transfer of gas medium to suspended impurities in the liquid while controlling intercell or vessel chamber turbulence. Such maximum gas induction achieved without turbulence is through the use of microscopic gas bubbles. Such microscopic gas bubbles provide massive surface area with which the suspended impurities adhere and allows for various apparatus utilization.

    Abstract: An upflow eductor induced air separator providing a main separator tank receiving a continuous fluid flow divided into a plurality of aeration chambers with each aeration chamber providing eductor means wherein gas is educted into an upflow water stream with contaminants of suspended oil and solids in the continuous fluid flow adhering to the gas bubbles for collection in a froth layer on the top portion of the tank. There is further provided a V-shaped collection channel extending substantially the length of the tank for removal of collected oil following the sensing activation of a valve allowing the fluid level within the tank to rise, with oil and solids ladened froth being removed through the valve. There is further provided a recirculation pump for recirculating the effluent which exits the tank following the aeration process, and a chemical injection mechanism for injecting a mixture of chemical flocculating agent entering the main separating tank.

    Abstract: A filter system using at least two filter vessels with a plurality of filter elements having absolute filtration capability. The filter elements use a nominal filter of diatomaceous earth, or a Perlite filter aid precoat layer, an outer wire layer, an absolute filter layer, a fine wire layer, a coarse wire layer, and a tube core for receiving filter flow therein. A pump is provided for injecting a predetermined amount of filter aid to a precoat tank containing clean fluid. The slurry of filter aid and clean fluid is then pumped into one of the filter vessels for precoating the filtering elements. The unfiltered fluid is then allowed to enter the vessel and be filtered through the filtering elements while virgin filter aid is continuously injected into the unfiltered fluids prior to the fluids entering the filter vessel. One filter vessel is converted to a cleaning mode while the second filter vessel continues filtering in response to a signal in a differential pressure element.
