  • Patent number: 9813805
Abstract: An apparatus for re-distributing acoustic energy. The apparatus comprises a first concave surface defined as a surface of revolution of a line or curve. This curve of revolution is rotated beyond 230 degrees and thus defines a rather small opening, which has advantages in the frequency response output. Additionally or alternatively, edges of the concave surface may be rounded to provide advantageous effects in the sound output.

  • Publication number: 20170187460
Abstract: A Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS) Passive Optical Network (PON) system (DPON) makes optical subscribers appear as cable subscribers. In one embodiment, a Cable Modern (CM) proxy is located in an Optical Line Temlination (OLT). The OLT implements a cable modem protocol stack that operates as the CM proxy and communicates with a back office system. The OLT translates the data retrieved by the CM proxy into Optical Network Unit (ONU) recognizable commands, and sends the translated data to the ONU. In a second embodiment, the CM proxy is located in the ONU. The ONU implements the cable modern protocol stack that operates as the CM proxy and communicates with the back office system. The ONU translates the data retrieved by the CM proxy into ONU recognizable commands and sends the translated data to the ONU.

  • Publication number: 20170050626
Abstract: Braking system includes a brake, first valve that actuates the brake based on user input, second valve configured to selectively actuate the brake, and valve actuation system including a user input device moveable between first and second positions. A brake sensor provides a signal indicative of actuation of the first valve. The valve actuation system activates the second valve if the user input device is in the first position and the first valve engaged, retaining the second valve in active state if the first valve is disengaged, deactivating the second valve if the user input device is in the second position.

  • Publication number: 20160196676
Abstract: A system includes a computing device that includes a memory configured to store instructions. The system also includes a processor to execute the instructions to perform operations that include receiving data representing a text character for being rendered on a display in a supporting font. Operations also include identifying the received text character as a member of one of two character classes. If the text character is identified as a class one character, operations include maintaining use of a current font, even if different from the supporting font, to render the class one character on the display. If the text character is identified as a class two character, operations include switching from the current font to another font only if the class two character is unsupported by the current font. Operations also include rendering the received text character on the display.
