  • Publication number: 20040164147
Abstract: An ATM currency cassette (208) includes a plurality of movable cassette information indicator buttons (214). Each button can be rotated about an axis for repositioning. The buttons can be axially moved outward and inward relative to the cassette housing (210) by rotation thereof. Different axial arrangements of the buttons represent respective different characteristics of cassette content. The cassette can be inserted into an ATM where the button positions can be read by the ATM. The cassette enables unused buttons to remain therewith and also permits a button arrangement to be changed without requiring opening of the cassette.

  • Patent number: 6630806
Abstract: A system for controlling a rotatable device, the system comprising a controller and a rotary device, which has a stator and rotor, wherein the controller is connected to the rotary device to control rotation of the rotary device, and wherein the controller is adapted to periodically energizes at least one energizing coil of the device to create a magnetic field of a polarity which induces the rotor to rotate in a single direction and wherein the controller is switched off so as to de-energize the energizing coil when other forces, being forces other than those resulting from the energized energizing coil, produce a resultant force which induces rotation of the rotor in the single direction.

  • Patent number: 6029424
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying, cleaning, drying, oiling, candling, grading and packing eggs and high speeds. A main conveyor assembly, which includes two or more conveyors, transfers eggs continuously in spaced-apart, aligned relationship to transfer at which eggs are packaged according to their previously-determined individual physical characteristics, such as weight, cracks, dirt, etc. The conveyors can run in the same direction, or may run in opposite directions. The transfers accommodate the at least two conveyors, and include a section which gathers ejected eggs and may convey them to a packing station in a manner which prevents egg collisions. The eject mechanism for ejecting eggs from the conveyors ensures proper distribution of the eggs across a transfer so as to prevent egg collisions and to ensure that the packers are filled equally across their widths.

  • Patent number: 5759861
Abstract: A method is taught for the detection of organosulfur compounds relating to bis-(2-chloroethyl)- sulphide. The detection can be achieved at trace levels or above and is particularly important in the field of environmental, biological and medical analysis.

  • Patent number: 4724691
Abstract: Mechanism for a lock bolt assembly of the kind including a housing, a bolt mounted on the housing for movement into and out of a strike engaging position, an actuator rotatably mounted on the housing, and a drive connection between the actuator and the bolt whereby operation of the actuator causes movement of the bolt. The drive connection includes an override clutch which can be caused to adopt either an engaged condition or a disengaged condition by operation of a key operated lock. In the engaged condition the actuator is drivably connected to the bolt, whereas in the disengaged condition that connection is broken. The clutch operates to resist rotation of the actuator when in the disengaged condition, but that resistance can be overcome by forced operation of the actuator after which the actuator can be rotated freely relative to other parts of the mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4719774
Abstract: A deadbolt assembly of the kind in which a deadbolt is mounted on a housing for linear movement between inoperative and inoperative positions in which the deadbolt engages with and does not engage respectively, a strike. An actuator is rotatably mounted on the housing and is drivably connected to the actuator through a drive plate which rotates in response to operation of the actuator, and a drive pin is secured to the plate at a position radially outwards of the rotational axis of the plate. The pin locates within a non-circular hole provided in the deadbolt and reacts against edges of that hole to cause the deadbolt movement. The pin moves along an arcuate path between each of its two extreme positions, and at each of those positions the pin lies on a straight line which extends substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the deadbolt and which substantially intersects the rotational axis of the drive plate. Both the deadbolt and the strike can be made from steel or other strong metal.
