  • Patent number: 4141687
Abstract: Method and apparatus suitable for automatic assay of fluid samples, particularly immunoassays, in which a reaction product of the assay is bound to a magnetically attractable particle and separated from the reaction mixture by use of a magnetic trap. The method and apparatus are of especial use in radioimmunoassays carried out in an automated continuous-flow manner.

Inventors: Gordon C. Forrest, Ronald F. Jay, John A. Clements
  • Patent number: 4084126
Abstract: A control and energization circuit for applying the vehicle alternator output directly to the resistive window heaters is disclosed. By disconnecting the alternator output from the vehicle battery, thereby temporarily interrupting the charging cycle of the battery, substantially the full alternator output may be applied to the window heaters to deice the vehicle windows.

  • Patent number: 4010703
Abstract: An improved method of providing a sealant layer in the double seam joining a can end panel and body. A dual band of molten resinous thermoplastic hot melt material is applied to the end unit and reflowed to obtain preferred placement. After double seaming, the material may be reflowed again to improve sealant continuity and to provide an improved sealing fillet between the end panel and body.
