  • Publication number: 20070026198
Abstract: A cleaning card for use in cleaning internal surfaces of machine components, including internal, rotatable idler rolls, includes a substrate having a central plane between opposed surfaces thereof, a machine direction dimension defined between opposed end edges and a transverse direction dimension defined between opposed side edges. The substrate includes an angled embossment forming angled, substantially non-collapsible, elongate raised ridges on opposite sides of the cleaning card substrate, with the raised ridges being oriented at an angle to the machine direction for incrementally engaging an idler roll surface along its axial extent as the raised ridges pass through a nip including the idler roll to aid in both rotating and cleaning one or more idler rolls. In preferred embodiments the opposed surfaces of the substrate each have a plurality of discrete, raised and collapsible working areas for engaging and cleaning internal surfaces of machine components in addition to idler rolls.

  • Publication number: 20060268316
Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing a fast, color printer architecture are disclosed. A print processor comprises a plurality of processing units operating in parallel to process data for different layers or color planes. A connection can be formed between any processing unit and any print head of one or more printers. Any one of a plurality of the parallel processing units may be assigned to process one, some, or all of the colors of data. Consequently, each one of a plurality of print heads can be assigned to receive data from any one of a plurality of processing units.

  • Publication number: 20060019072
Abstract: A cleaning card for use in cleaning internal surfaces of a machine-reading mechanism includes a substrate having plurality of discrete raised areas in opposed surfaces thereof. The discrete raised areas each include a peak and a peripheral wall having an edge remote from the peak, and the peak of each raised area is farther from a central plane of the card than the edge of the peripheral wall remote from the peak. Relief means are provided in the substrate for preventing the peaks of at least some of the discrete raised areas from flattening toward the central plane to an extent that such peaks will not effectively engage and clean desired internal surfaces of a machine-reading mechanism when the cleaning card moves in the machine direction in other than a single, substantially linear plane.

  • Publication number: 20050205882
Abstract: A device is described which possesses an array of light-emitting diodes configured to distribute the light energy over the surface of a volume of material. The device is suited to photo-initiating the polymerization of photo-sensitized polymer or polymer composites.

  • Publication number: 20050200897
Abstract: A method and system for providing a halftoned image is disclosed. The method and system comprise scaling the halftoned image by performing pel repetition utilizing an error diffusion algorithm such that artifacts are minimized. According a system and method in accordance with the present invention performs pel repetition using error diffusion technology, so that any resulting “artifacts” are realized as high-frequency image addition, making them much less visible. A system and method in accordance with the present invention provides adjustability in the computational complexity of the scaling, so that quality can be traded off continuously against the amount of processing power required.

  • Publication number: 20050094190
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method and system for transforming a datastream. The method includes parsing the datastream into a plurality of work units in a first format and processing each of the plurality of work units by at least one compute node to convert each work unit into a second format. In another aspect, the system includes a central component for receiving the datastream in a first format, a plurality of sources in the central component, where each of the plurality of sources is associated with at least one transform, and at least one compute node coupled to the central component. According to the system of the present invention, the central component instantiates at least one source of the plurality of sources that parses the datastream into a plurality of work units in the first format, and distributes each of the work units to the at least one compute node, which converts each work unit into a second format.

  • Publication number: 20050065227
Abstract: Type II photoinitiators interact with co-initiating agents to initiate polymerization in ethylenically unsaturated resins when exposed to irradiation. In the current invention, said photoinitiators are bound to the surface or synthesized on the surface of polymer or inorganic particles or molecules, creating a complex which is multifunctional with respect to the photo-initiating capability. The mixture of said photoinitiator in said monomer/co-initiator mixture will demonstrate a low level of elution of initiator species from the cured polymer in liquid media.

  • Patent number: 6024078
Abstract: A disk-shaped projectile can be launched in a variety of orientations incing face-on and edge-on orientations. The launcher includes two spinning disks for receiving the projectile between them and imparting a force to the projectile. The angle between the axes of the disks can be set to zero or a non-zero value. The angle and the spin rates of the disks control the linear velocity and the spin rate of the projectile.
