  • Patent number: 9074969
Abstract: A sample fluid stream in a probe apparatus may be redirected in a redirection area, and a flowing gas sheet may be directed into the redirection area. Additionally, a conduit downstream of a probe nozzle may define a reverse taper (where the conduit is wider downstream), a lip for collecting droplets that have collected on conduit walls, and/or re-entraining gas directed at collected droplets. Focusing gas may focus the sample fluid stream away from the walls of the conduit. Such focusing gas may be at different temperatures for different sections of the conduit. For example, the focusing gas may be a lower temperature near the probe inlet, and may be at a higher temperature to act as drying gas farther downstream.

  • Publication number: 20090108090
Abstract: A liquid comprising an analyte can be nebulized to produce droplets, and the droplets can be entrained in a carrier fluid flow. A portion of the droplets can be selected to remain entrained in the carrier fluid flow, thereby producing a selected droplet fluid flow including the carrier fluid and the selected portion of the droplets. The selected droplet fluid flow can be dried to produce an aerosol flow containing particles comprising the analyte. In addition, an amount of the liquid consumed in producing the aerosol flow can be quantified.

  • Patent number: 7267539
Abstract: A new system for making agglomerates of chopped glass fiber strand segments is disclosed and claimed. The agglomerates, made by feeding wet chopped fiber strand segments into a wave chamber having a vibrating curved surface that produces a wave-like flow pattern in the segments and agglomerates, have a substantially higher bulk density and greatly improved flow characteristics than conventional chopped strand reinforcements. The wet agglomerates are usually dried in any conventional dryer.

  • Publication number: 20040211743
Abstract: A beverage bottle is provided, with a sidewall detail representing a gemstone, in which the gemstone representation is carried by and secured to the sidewall of the bottle, either directly on the surface thereof, or in a recess thereof, with or without a setting, with the gemstone representation preferably having a plurality of facets for reflecting light outwardly of the gemstone and thereby suggesting a quality product in the bottle.

  • Publication number: 20040089966
Abstract: A new system and method for making agglomerates of chopped glass fiber strand segments is disclosed as are the agglomerates produced.

  • Patent number: 3951822
Abstract: A composition comprising a metal salt of a carboxylic acid in conjunction with a beta-haloethyl phosphate has been found useful as a flame retardant for urethane polymers and composites thereof with other polymer materials. The zinc, antimony, stannic and cupric salts of such acids are used in combination with, e.g., tris(beta-chloroethyl) phosphate.
