  • Patent number: 11654484
Abstract: A method of forming a part includes metal binder jet printing a first green component with a first attachment interface, de-powdering the first green component, assembling the first green component with a second component comprising a second attachment interface and forming an assembly such that the first attachment interface and the second attachment interface are adjacent to each other. The assembly is sintered such that volumetric shrinkage of at least the first green component creates a compressive force across the first attachment interface and the second attachment interface, and the compressive force across the first attachment interface and the second attachment interface and heat from the sintering results in a metallurgical bond across the first attachment interface and the second attachment interface such that a monolithic part is formed.

  • Patent number: 10690021
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a valve spring retainer of a valvetrain assembly. In one example, valve spring retainer may be at least partially hollowed and include inner cavities forming channels within a material of the valve spring retainer. Air inside the inner cavities may be fluidly coupled to air surrounding the valve spring retainer through channels. A mass of the valve spring retainer may be decreased and a cost and speed of fabrication of the valve spring retainer may be reduced by additive manufacturing.

  • Patent number: 8195453
Abstract: A distributed intelligibility testing system provides standardized audio tests to a plurality of remotely located client systems. The testing system includes a test manager that records a plurality of audio test words based on established intelligibility standards and generates a test protocol corresponding to the audio test words. A database receives and stores the audio test words and the test protocol. The audio test words are stored as a plurality of audio test files. Respective client systems in communication with the database receive and play the audio test files in accordance with the test protocol. The client systems record test responses when the audio test files are played. The test responses are stored in a database, and then evaluated.
