    Abstract: A shielded lock assembly incorporating a body surrounding a deadbolt subassembly. The body renders more difficult access to the deadbolt subassembly in order to reduce the incidence of theft involving the prying, cutting, or other destruction of the deadbolt subassembly. In one embodiment of the invention the deadbolt subassembly is received within a retaining cage which is itself received within the body. Aperture means are provided in the body and the retaining cage which are adapted to receive at least one locking bracket or staple in locking alignment with the deadbolt.

    Abstract: A shielded lock assembly incorporating a housing surrounding a shackle and lock body. The housing renders more difficult access to the shackle and lock body in order to reduce the incidence of theft involving the prying, cutting or other destruction of the shackle or lock body. In one embodiment of the invention the shielded lock assembly is adapted to receive a pair of cable ends. In a modified embodiment of the invention the lock assembly is adapted to be positioned adjacent a planar surface such as defined by a pair of doors or the like. In a still further modified form of the invention, the lock assembly is adapted to be positioned adjacent intersecting planar surfaces such as defined by a door and a jamb.
