  • Patent number: 11216372
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed to operate binary objects across private address spaces. In various embodiments, a private shared memory segment is allocated for two non-privileged address spaces, the first comprising a home address space and the second comprising a target address space. One or more executable modules are loaded in a private address space of the home address space. One or more program call routines and an environment to schedule system request blocks (SRB) are built in the home address space. The environment to schedule system request blocks is configured to be used to schedule an SRB into the target address space, the SRB comprising information configured to cause the target address space to cause an associated one of the executable modules to execute.

  • Patent number: 11169846
Abstract: A system for scheduling and dispatching workload items between tasks can include an aggregated file structure and a task scheduler. The aggregated file structure comprises at least one logical partition with each partition having a secondary operating system and address spaces and a plurality of tasks executable therein. The task scheduler is executable from the primary operating system and can receive a service request from a task requesting an action from at least one other task and writing the action, a first task identifier, and at least one other task identifier to at least one private memory address associated with the other task or tasks. The service request action can be a start service request, a stop service request, a suspend service request, a resume service request, change the order of execution service request, or a change priority of executing tasks service request.

  • Patent number: 10246942
Abstract: A hydraulic motor circuit for driving an auger is disclosed. The circuit includes a hydraulic motor that receives oil from an oil supply via a supply line and returns oil to the oil supply via a return line. The circuit further includes a main stage pressure relief valve and a first pilot stage relief valve operable if pressure in the return line exceeds a predetermined value corresponding to an allowable inertia load acting on the motor, opening of the first pilot stage relief valve causing the main stage pressure relief valve to open, allowing flow to be diverted from the return line to the supply line and back to the motor. A control valve is configured to block flow to the first pilot stage relief valve when pressure, in the supply line is greater than pressure in the return line. If pressure in the return line exceeds pressure in the supply line, the control valve shifts open and exposes the first pilot stage relief valve to pressure in the return line.

  • Patent number: 8252878
Abstract: A novel class of polymers obtainable by copolymerising a monomer mixture comprising (i) hydrophilic monomer of general formula (I) Y—B—X; (ii) styrene or a substituted styrene, a monomer or mixture of monomers which when polymerized form a polymer with a Tg lower than the Tg of a homopolymer of monomer (I) and lower than the Tg of a homopolymer of monomer (ii); and a monomer having a crosslinkable group is described. The invention also relates to a method for producing such polymers, implants coated with the polymers and methods for forming the same.

  • Patent number: 5741923
Abstract: An improved process for producing ethylenically unsaturated phosphate ester compounds, especially 2-(methacryloyloxyethyl)-2' (trimethylammoniomethyl) phosphate, (HEMA-PC) comprises a two step reaction in the first of which a phospholane reagent is reacted with a hydroxyl containing ethylenically unsaturated starting material, and in the second of which the intermediate formed in the first step is ring opened by reaction with trimethylamine to produce a zwitterionic product. In the process the two steps of the reaction are carried out in the same solvent with substantially no removal or addition of solvent after the first step. The solvent is preferably acetonitrile. The use of pure reagents avoids the production of undesirable by-products. The product is suitable for polymerising, for instance to provide cross-linked hydrogel copolymers used in ophthalmic applications.

  • Patent number: 5640804
Abstract: The present invention provides new methods for controlling plant pests using transgenic plants. The methods control pests on a desired crop plant using transgenic pest trap plants of a different species or variety which are preferred host for the target pest, and thereby preferentially attract the pest. The pest trap plants comprise a gene encoding a protein toxic to the pest.

  • Patent number: 4612725
Abstract: A method for the acclimatization of plant propagules obtained by tissue culture techniques allows the direct field rooting of the propagules. Tissue culture propagules are first treated under conditions which provide for hardening or lignification of the propagule prior to root induction. The hardened propagules are exposed to a root induction medium for a time sufficient to initiate root formation, but are removed from the medium prior to root emergence. The plantlets are then substantially immediately planted in the field where root formation occurs. Root formation in the field avoids root shock which may occur when plantlets are transplanted after root formation is accomplished under greenhouse conditions. The propagules which are planted in the field are protected by a light and moisture barrier which provides for controlled humidity, light intensity, and temperature conditions until the resulting plantlet is sufficiently acclimatized to survive in the uncontrolled environment.
