Patent number: 8621508Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for creating and distributing programming content carried by a digital streaming media to be a plurality of remote nodes located over a large geographic area to create customized broadcast quality programming at the remote nodes. At the remote nodes, a multi-window screen display simultaneously shows different programming including national programming and local programming content. The remote nodes utilize a remote channel origination device to assemble the customized programming at the remote location that can be controlled from a central location. An encapsulated IP and IP encryption system is used to transport the digital streaming media to the appropriate remote nodes. Also disclosed is a graphical user interface (“GUI”) providing a software control interface for creating and editing shows or programs that can be aired or played on a remote display device having a multi-window display.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2004Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Xialan Chi Ltd., LLCInventors: Lynn T. Patent number: 7606720Abstract: A technique for exchanging data between networked medical diagnostic systems of a medical institution is provided. The diagnostic systems may include imaging systems, data management systems, monitors, and so forth, connected to an internal network of the institution. A data communications control system is connected to the internal network and receives data from the systems, transmits data to a remote service provider via an external network, and routes data received through the external network back to the diagnostic systems.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1999Date of Patent: October 20, 2009Assignee: GE Medical Systems, Inc.Inventors: Daniel I. Kerpelman, Richard L. Frowein, Hubert Anthony Zettel, James F. Kohli, John Heinen

Patent number: 7050984Abstract: A technique is provided for servicing a plurality of medical diagnostic systems remotely. The systems are coupled to an internal network of a medical institution or facility. A data communications control system serves to link the institution to a remote service provider via an external network. Service requests and data are generated at the systems or at the control system. The requests are then transmitted to the remote service provider via the control system, and responses to the requests are received by the control system for distribution to the diagnostic systems. The technique permits systems to be remotely serviced which may not be equipped for separate communication via external networks, reduces infrastructure and costs, and facilitates the coordination of service needs of the institution.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1999Date of Patent: May 23, 2006Assignee: GE Medical Systems, Inc.Inventors: Daniel I. Kerpelman, Richard L. Frowein, Hubert Anthony Zettel, James F. Kohli, John Heinen

Publication number: 20030028449Abstract: A system for and method of configuring capital equipment in an on-line marketplace environment provides for the generation and acceptance of purchase orders in an automated and distributed environment. Using this system or method, a purchaser may view basic product information at a business-to-business exchange web page and select a link to display a product provider web page. After the purchaser contacts the product provider to configure a particular capital equipment product, the product provider posts a complete product specification and price quotation on-line at the product provider web page. A reference to the quote is displayed at the exchange web page, and the purchaser may view the quotation on-line and accept the quotation at the exchange web page.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2001Publication date: February 6, 2003Applicant: GE Medical Systems Global Technology Co., LLC.Inventors: John Heinen, David L. Patent number: 4654084Abstract: The contractions of aqueous hydraulic cement mixtures in the plastic state is controlled by the addition of a gas generating agent capable of generating gas in the mixture without the addition of activators or other agents, and which does not generate disagreeable or noxious ammonia fumes. The gas generation may be controlled over an extended period of time so that even slow setting cementitious mixtures may have their shrinkage or contraction inhibited while in the plastic state during setting or hardening without the generation of ammonia fumes.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1983Date of Patent: March 31, 1987Assignee: Construction Products Research Inc.Inventor: John A.
