  • Publication number: 20210376396
Abstract: A top case component of a lead-acid monobloc case that comprises a the top case component comprising a top exterior surface of the monobloc case, wherein the top exterior surface comprises: (a) a pocket configured to house a battery monitor circuit, wherein the pocket extends into an interior of the monobloc case past the sealed interface of the top case component and the primary case component; and (b) at least one pathway configured to house electrically conducting connections that place the battery monitor circuit in electrical connection with the positive and negative terminal poles of the monobloc.

  • Publication number: 20060275654
Abstract: A battery pressure relief valve has a center stem that extends downwardly through and is secured to a fill tube opening of the battery to securely hold the valve to the battery. A circular top panel is provided on the upper end of the stem. The top panel extends over the fill tube opening. A cylindrical sidewall extends downwardly from the top panel periphery and around the fill tube. The cylindrical sidewall provides a resilient seal around the fill tube that seals the battery interior from the exterior environment of the battery. The sidewall flexes radially outwardly when subjected to fluid pressure from the batter interior, enabling the safe venting of the fluid pressure, and reseals around the fill tube when the pressure is relieved.

  • Publication number: 20050238955
Abstract: The construction of an electrically conductive terminal of a lead-acid battery seals a terminal post from the acid in the battery box interior by an collar that is mounted on the exterior of the terminal and that sandwiches a seal between the collar and a plate strap of the battery in the interior of the battery box. The collar is sealed to the battery casing.

  • Patent number: 5403999
Abstract: A lottery system using a public switched network to enter a lottery and to receive an indication of winning while connected on a lottery call. A lottery customer dials a telephone number to enter the lottery. The customer has his eligibility verified by a credit card number or the telephone number of the calling station. The customer is then prompted to speak or key a lottery entry which may be a full number, partial number, or an indication that a lottery comparison number is to be generated by a lottery processor. From the customer's lottery entry, a lottery comparison number is generated. This is compared with a random lottery target number generated by the lottery processor. If the comparison number and target number match, the customer is informed of his winning. Advantageously, lottery customers are quickly notified of their winnings.

  • Patent number: 5389465
Abstract: In one aspect the invention is a lead-acid cell of the type having a container. The container has a jar and a lid. The jar has an upper perimeter defining an opening matingly engaging and closed by the lid. The container houses at least one positive electrode plate, at least one negative electrode plate, a separator interposed between the electrode plates, acid electrolyte absorbed in the electrode plates and separator, and electrical connections from the electrode plate(s) through the container to an output terminal location. The lid is sealed to the jar. The cell is improved by the lid and the jar including a mechanical means for retaining the mating relationship of the lid and with the jar, when the lid is placed upon the upper perimeter, of the jar.

  • Patent number: 3971217
Abstract: A fluid operated reciprocatable device has an outer, usually fixed, member nd an inner relatively movable member joined by a resilient member e.g., of rubber. The outer member is closed at one end so as to form an enclosure into which fluid under pressure can be admitted so as to displace the inner member in a given axial direction relative to the outer member. When a pulsating pressure is applied to the fluid the inner member vibrates axially in accordance with the pulses. The resilient member is proportioned so that its dimension in the axial direction is large in comparison with the thickness between the outer and inner members, e.g. 4 times larger. The properties of the resilient member are chosen so that it acts not only as a seal between the outer and inner members to contain fluid, but as a return spring whereby the inner member is returned, between fluid pulses, from an axially displaced position.
