    Abstract: An automated food processing system and method are provided that allow food to be dispensed, fried and packaged in a suitable container, which may be an individual portion-sized container. In one embodiment, the system includes separate automated modules for dispensing, frying and packaging the food. In one embodiment, an automated dispensing device dispenses a predetermined portion of food from a bulk storage container or food dispensing magazine to an automated fry device that can include at least one circular fry wheel having a plurality of food containing compartments. After the food is fried it is dispensed from the fry device to an automated packaging device. The automated packaging device dispenses food to a container that may be an individual portion-sized container that is retrieved, erected and held into position for filling by an automated container handling system. A conveyor system transports the filled container to a suitable pick-up location.

    Abstract: A device and method are provided for dispensing a quantity of food to be cooked. The device includes a freezer, a storage container located in the freezer, means located in the freezer for dispensing a predetermined quantity of food from the storage container into a secondary container, and means for dispensing the quantity of food from the secondary container to a location outside the freezer. The means for dispensing a predetermined quantity of food may be, for example, a magazine with dual spiral flights for dispensing food items one at a time, or a vibratory conveyor cooperating with a device for determining a quantity of food in the secondary conveyor and means for terminating the dispensing when a predetermined quantity of food is sensed. The secondary container may have an opening in its bottom and be movable laterally to align its opening with an opening in the freezer.

In one embodiment, an automated dispensing device dispenses a predetermined portion of food from a food dispensing magazine located in a freezer. Food is dispensed from the magazine to a secondary container located within the freezer for containing a plurality of pieces dispensed from the food magazine. A device is provided for determining the number of food pieces in the container located in the secondary container and for dumping the secondary container so that food pieces contained in the secondary container are dumped to a location outside of the freezer.

    Abstract: The present invention is a device for bringing integrated circuit devices (22), to be tested at a test site, to a temperature to which the devices (22) will be subjected during operating conditions of equipments in which they will ultimately be installed. The device includes a rack (30) comprising a plurality of rails (32) overlying corresponding tracks (24) down which the integrated circuits (22) move through a magazine (20). The rails (32) are adjustable toward and away from their corresponding tracks (24), and both are heated in order to impart thermal energy to integrated circuit devices (22) passing down the tracks (24). Each track (24) has, proximate a lower end thereof, a singulation assembly (56) which not only isolates a single device (22) to be passed to a test site, but also functions to press the lowermost device (22) in a string passing down the respective track (24) into close engagement with the track (24) in order to effect maximum heat transfer.
