  • Publication number: 20050237226
Abstract: A flight control system includes a primary flight display having a hover display which facilitates operations in DVE conditions. The hover display includes a radar altitude display, heading drift symbology and lateral drift symbology which assists pilots in the detection of drift, which is common in DVE situations and to provide the pilot with a salient cue pertinent to the approach to hover and landing.

  • Publication number: 20050223730
Abstract: A chiller system includes a refrigerant loop, the refrigerant loop further including a compressor, an air-cooled condenser arrangement and an evaporator arrangement connected in a first closed refrigerant loop. A motor is connected to the compressor to drive the compressor, a drive is connected to the motor to power the motor and a power/control panel controls the refrigerant loop. The power/control panel and the condenser arrangement are connected in a second closed coolant loop. The second closed coolant loop provides cooling to the enclosure and/or components within the enclosure disposed on a chill plate. Condensation is substantially prevented from forming inside the enclosure, despite the enclosure lacking a humidity control device.

  • Publication number: 20050188708
Abstract: A system and method are provided for variable speed operation of a screw compressor to obtain increased capacity and efficiency. The screw compressor is connected to an induction motor driven by a variable speed drive, wherein the screw compressor has a variable output capacity that is dependent on the output speed of the motor. To obtain increased capacity and efficiency, the screw compressor is operated at a speed greater than the screw compressor's rated speed and does not include a slide valve. The maximum operating speed of the screw compressor, which speed is greater than the rated speed, is related to the maximum operating speed of the motor when operated at a voltage and frequency provided by the variable speed drive that is greater than the motor's rated voltage and frequency in a constant flux or constant volts/Hz mode.

  • Publication number: 20050169935
Abstract: The present invention provides compositions and methods for the prevention and treatment of primary and metastatic neoplastic diseases and infectious diseases, for stimulating an immune response in a subject, and for use as an alternative to interleukin-12 (IL-12) treatment. In particular, the present invention provides Apicomlexa-related proteins (ARPs) that have immune stimulatory activity and thus have uses in the treatment and prevention of cancer and infectious diseases and in immune modulation. Compositions comprising an ARP are provided. Methods of use of an ARP for the prevention and/or treatment of cancer and/or infectious diseases, for use as an alternative to interleukin-12 (IL-12) treatment, and for eliciting an immune response in a subject, are also provided.

  • Patent number: 6883885
Abstract: A slide assembly is provided comprising a stationary slide segment, an intermediate slide segment, and a load-carrying slide segment. A bearing assembly is provided between the segments to reduce the friction therebetween. A lock arm extends from the load-carrying slide segment and is engageable with an engagement surface of the intermediate slide segment to limit movement of the load-carrying slide segment with respect to the intermediate slide segment when the load-carrying slide segment is fully extended. An elongated release member is slidably disposed within the channel of the load-carrying member, and as the release member is displaced inwardly, it depresses the lock arm thereby actuating the release mechanism by disengaging the lock arm from the engagement surface. The release mechanism remains actuated until the load-carrying slide segment is fully inserted into the intermediate slide member.

  • Publication number: 20050066035
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for connecting via a public network at least two privately addressed networks sharing a reserved address space are disclosed herein. One aspect provides a method comprising the steps of automatically assigning respective unique addresses from said reserved address space to each of at least two privately addressed networks and automatically routing communications between the at least two privately addressed networks dependent on the unique addresses via a virtual network link. The method may comprise the further step of automatically creating the virtual network link between the at least two privately addressed networks. The unique addresses may be automatically assigned and the communications may be automatically routed without any human intervention, and no network address translation may be required at the gateways of the privately addressed networks.

  • Publication number: 20050066041
Abstract: Methods, systems, and gateways are disclosed for automatically setting up a redirector of domain name system (DNS) name requests. A DNS setup packet is transmitted to a remote gateway via a tunnel of a virtual private network (VPN). The setup packet comprises a global name of a home network and a private address of a DNS server in the home network. A DNS setup reply packet is received from the remote gateway via the tunnel. The reply packet comprises a global name of another home network and a private address of a DNS server in the other home network. An application level gateway of the DNS server (DNS-ALG) in the home network is configured dependent upon the DNS setup reply packet to redirect DNS name requests for the global name of the other network to the DNS server in the other network. Methods, systems, and gateways are also disclosed for resolving a domain name request in a DNS.

  • Patent number: 6007030
Abstract: A trash bag holder and expanding form is made from a sheet of stiff material that has at least three panels to hold a bag in an erect condition and to expand the opening of the bag into a shape that will allow the user to fill the bag with leaves or trash without having to hold the bag. The panels are separated by parallel, vertically disposed score lines that act as fold lines or hinges between the panels of the holder. The holder can be formed from high density corrugated polyurethylene (HDPE) board, recycled plastic corrugated board that may have a lap joint sealed by a sonic weld. The panels are proportioned so that the sheet material can be folded flat with the panels lying against one another. When the invention is folded into its operational configuration, the score lines act as corners such that the form is tubular or U-shaped with open ends and braces may hold panels in extended opposing relationship.

The panels are separated by parallel, vertically disposed score lines that act as fold lines or hinges between the panels of the holder. The panels are stiff in character, because the invention is intended to hold the bag upright. The holder is formed from high density corrugated polyurethylene (HDPE) board, recycled plastic corrugated board or corrugated boxboard. The panels are proportioned so that the sheet material can be folded flat with the panels lying against one another. When the invention is folded into its operational configuration, the score lines act as corners such that the form takes a tubular shape with open ends.

  • Patent number: 4012845
Abstract: Traditionally flowers are dried for decorative purposes by being left immersed in a bed of fine sand. The sand holds the flower in a constant conformation and prevents damage such as the crinkling of petals during dehydration. The invention provides a process in which the labor-intensive operation of covering the flower manually with the sand is avoided. The sand is fluidized by means of a gentle current of air rising therethrough, enabling the flower to be simply immersed in the sand without damage or change in conformation. Fluidization is stopped, and the flower is instantly locked in place by the sand ready for dehydration. After dehydration, the flower can be removed from the sand easily by re-fluidizing the sand.
