  • Publication number: 20050099984
Abstract: A system for delivering media content streams to users of wireless communication devices comprising at least one wireless communication device, at least one at least one media content source capable of delivering at least one media content stream, and at least one switching center for receiving media content requests from the wireless communication devices and delivering a media content stream from the media content source to the wireless communication device.

  • Patent number: 6212415
Abstract: The present invention provides a power adapter (10) adapted to couple an external antenna (17) to a communication device (30) by way of a cable (12) which is typically plugged into a cigarette lighter of a vehicle or some other power source at one end, and an input connector of the communication device (30) at the other. In particular, the present invention provides a simple one-piece vehicle power adapter which also provides RF input/output capability for connection to an external vehicle antenna. According to certain aspects of the invention, the adapter can be configured to have a variety of selection mechanisms. For example, the communication device could include an RF switch (34) and control circuitry for selecting either the internal or external antenna for optimum reception. Alternatively, the cable could include an external switch (70) for allowing the user to select the desired antenna.

  • Patent number: 5625683
Abstract: A time-to-call and corresponding telephone number are stored in a memory (207) of a radiotelephone (100). The radiotelephone reminds a user that it is time to place a call by emitting a noise through a speaker (105) when a time-of-the-day is equal to or later than the time-to-call. The radiotelephone determines if the radiotelephone is powered on before displaying the telephone number on a display (111). Upon viewing the displayed telephone number, the user can cancel the call or confirm placement of the call to the telephone number by pressing a key (109) or key combination. If confirmed, the radiotelephone automatically dials the telephone number. When a time duration passes before the radiotelephone is powered on, the call is terminated, or the call is canceled, the user has the option to delete the telephone number and corresponding time-to-call from the memory, or change the time-to-call.

  • Patent number: 5420759
Abstract: A support assembly, and associated method, for permitting a reduced-sized, card member to be received by a standard-sized, card reader assembly of a radio telephone. The support assembly is comprised of a frame formed of a standard-sized, card member having a through-hole extending therethrough. The through-hole is of dimensions corresponding to the card member of the reduced dimensions. A thin, support sheet covers a portion of an opening formed by the through-hole on a top surface of the frame to form a front joist thereby, and the thin, support sheet is folded about an edge of the frame similarly to form a rear joist over an opening formed upon a bottom face surface of the frame by the through-hole. The front joist and the rear joist together form a pocket for supporting the card member of the reduced dimensions within the through-hole.

  • Patent number: 5063340
Abstract: A capacitive power supply having a charge equalization circuit. The charge equalization circuit is comprised of a shunt circuit connected in a parallel connection with capacitive elements of the capacitive power supply. Once a charging current is applied to the capacitive power supply to store charge thereupon to form thereby a potential difference across the capacitive elements of a pre-determined level, the shunt circuit forms a shunt to shunt the charging current thereto.
