A system for providing enhancement of media content displayed by a presentation unit of the system comprises the presentation unit configured to receive and display the media content, and a content enhancement module stored in a memory of the presentation unit. The presentation unit also includes a processor configured to control the content enhancement module to enhance the media content. A method for use by the content enhancement module comprises reading a context data received by the presentation unit, the context data describing a media content provided for display by the presentation unit, processing the context data to identify the media content, requesting an enhancement data corresponding to the media content, and executing instructions received in the enhancement data to enhance the media content displayed by the presentation unit.

Abstract: Various embodiments of systems, methods, and computers are disclosed for detecting and/or managing carrier-controlled requests for a web site. One embodiment is a method system for providing a web site to mobile communication devices. The system comprises a mobile communication device and a server. The mobile communication device is configured to communicate with the server via a communication network and comprises a carrier-controlled user interface for accessing a web site. The server is configured to provide the web site to the mobile communication device and comprises an on-deck detection system and an on-deck/off-deck management system embodied in a memory and executed by a processor. The on-deck detection system detects requests for the web site from the carrier-controlled user interface, and the on-deck/off-deck management system manages the requests.

Abstract: Various embodiments of systems, methods, computer devices, and computer software for providing an integrated SMS/WAP advertisement are disclosed. One embodiment comprises a system for providing SMS-sponsored WAP advertisements. One such system comprises a short messaging service (SMS) application server and a web server. The SMS application server is configured to send a short message service (SMS) message to a mobile terminal that has an embedded link to a wireless access protocol (WAP) site. The embedded link includes a predetermined parameter identifying an advertiser associated with the SMS message. The web server is configured to receive a request for the WAP site. If the request includes the predetermined parameter, it is determined that the request originated from the SMS message and the WAP site is provided to the mobile terminal with an advertisement associated with the advertiser.
