Abstract: Systems and methods of device maintenance reporting via a wireless protocol are provided. Systems can include a central station and a plurality of remote systems such that the central station is in wireless bidirectional communication with each of the plurality of remote systems. When the central station receives a maintenance signal from a first of the plurality of remote systems, the central station can poll each of the plurality of remote systems located within a predetermined distance of a location of the first of the plurality of remote systems. The central station can also determine whether a maintenance need exists for each of the plurality of remote systems located within the predetermined distance.

  • Publication number: 20070177957
Abstract: The present invention is a housing for a surface-mountable device such as a security device (a PIR, a microwave motion detector, and the like). The housing has a surface-mountable housing portion with at least one aperture for receiving a surface-mounting member therethrough, the housing portion fabricated substantially from a plastic material. A member-retaining portion is integrally molded with the housing portion and extends substantially perpendicular from said housing portion, said member-retaining portion adapted to receive a surface-mounting member when inserted therethrough and retain said surface-mounting member in place. As a result of this configuration, when a surface-mounting member such as a screw is inserted therethrough, the surface-mounting member is held in place by the member-retaining portion and is insertable through the aperture when pressure is applied thereto.

  • Publication number: 20050134471
Abstract: A wireless security device, such as a door or window motion sensor, that can be mounted almost entirely within a recess of a door, window or frame, with only the antenna mounted on the surface of the door or window jamb. The wireless security device has a housing suitable for being embedded within a structure such as a door, window or frame. In the housing are a security sensor circuit adapted to generate an alarm signal when activated, a radio frequency (RF) transmitter connected to the security sensor circuit for transmitting an RF signal when the alarm signal is generated, and a power source (such as a battery, piezoelectric element, solar cell or fuel cell) for supplying operating power to the security sensor circuit and the RF transmitter. A substantially flat surface mountable strip is located in proximity to the housing and is suitable for being mounted outside (i.e. along the surface of the structure).

  • Publication number: 20050134450
Abstract: A security system device including a single housing including at least a primary alarm sensor, an alarm verification unit, and processing circuitry. The primary alarm sensor is adapted to monitor a primary protected area and to generate a primary alarm signal when the primary alarm sensor is triggered. The alarm verification unit selectively provides verification information (e.g. video and/or audio signals) from at least part of the primary protected area to a central station monitor. The processing circuitry is adapted to generate an alarm enable signal when the primary alarm signal is generated. On the occurrence of an alarm enable signal, the processing circuitry generates an alarm detected signal and causes the alarm detected signal to be transmitted to a central station monitor, enables operation of the alarm verification unit, and enables transmission of the verification information from the protected area to the central station monitor.

  • Publication number: 20050112955
Abstract: A terminal block for coupling at least one conductor to a printed circuit board with a housing of insulating material, at least two cavities in the housing for accepting screw-operated conductor clamping or insulation displacement terminals, the housing having a length-wise direction along a reference line, the two cavities each having a center point, with the center point of at least one of the two cavities disposed in an offset position from the reference line in the length-wise direction such that at least two cavities are staggered with respect to each other. The staggering enables a standard installer screwdriver with a ? inch (3.175 mm) width blade to be used for the screw heads of a miniature terminal block. Remaining components of the terminal block such as the contact members and wire guards used in conventional terminal blocks can still be accommodated.

  • Publication number: 20050022168
Abstract: A comprehensive analysis procedure for analyzing and comparing multiple sets of data to detect hidden discriminatory data patterns. The inventive procedure identifies a best subset of markers for optimal discrimination between two or more sets of data. A point-wise test on two or more sets of data is performed to calculate test statistic values and to generate a statgram, a two- or higher- dimensional map of the test statistic values along the range of data. A threshold is then determined for isolating critical regions of the statgram at each significance level to provide candidate markers. A subset of markers from the candidate markers is then selected to discriminate among the sets of data. The two or more sets of data are classified using the subset of markers.

  • Patent number: RE42285
Abstract: An Applications Processor (14) including a centralized database system is used in a wireless location system (WLS). The APs 14 may be used to manage resources in the WLS, including signal collection systems (SCSs 10) and TDOA location processors (TLPs 12). Each AP 14 contains a database containing triggers for the WLS. The WLS can be programmed to locate only certain pre-determined types of transmissions. When a transmission of a pre-determined type occurs, then the WLS is triggered to begin location processing. Each AP 14 also contains applications interfaces that permit a variety of applications to securely access the WLS. These applications may access location records in real time or non-real time, create or delete certain types of triggers, or cause the WLS to take other actions. Each AP 14 is also capable of certain post-processing functions.
