    Abstract: Systems and methods for assessing bypass capacitor locations in printed circuit board design which are utilized as return current paths are disclosed. In one embodiment a method of assessing bypass capacitor locations in printed circuit board design comprises selecting a first via on a layer of a printed circuit board; selecting a first capacitor for use as a return current path in association with the selected first via; determining a frequency capability supported by the combination of the first via and the first capacitor; and recording the frequency capability in a suitable memory location.
