  • Patent number: 6405136
Abstract: A method is disclosed for compressing a frame of data representing parameter values, a time at which each parameter value was recorded, and an orientation of a sensor at the time each parameter value was recorded. Generally the method includes performing a two-dimensional transform on the data in the orientation domain and in a domain related to the recording time. In one embodiment, the method includes calculating a logarithm of each parameter value. In one embodiment, the 2-D transform includes generating a Fourier transform of the logarithm of the parameter values in the azimuthal domain, generating a discrete cosine transform of the transform coefficients in the time domain. This embodiment includes quantizing the coefficients of the Fourier transform and the discrete cosine transform. One embodiment of the method is adapted to transmit resistivity measurements made by an LWD instrument in pressure modulation telemetry so that while-drilling images of a wellbore can be generated.

  • Patent number: 5573625
Abstract: A cured rubber tire has adhered thereto a layer of heated and mixed, productive urethane composition fluid sidewall material which has been flowed from a nozzle into a groove in the sidewall of a shaped tire. The tire is rotated under the nozzle a distance equal to the circumferential length of the groove so that the ends of the layer may be joined after which the flow of productive urethane composition sidewall material is terminated.

  • Patent number: 4859272
Abstract: A segmental drum (10) has spaced-apart inflatable turnup bladders (24) for folding each edge (28) of a belt (30) applied to the drum (10). The spacing of the bladders (24) is adjustable by axial movement in opposite directions of central hub assemblies (42,44) threaded on screws (76). Fine adjustment of the spacing to straigten the fold line (32) of each bladder (24) is provided by axial adjustment of rigid polyurethane bladder support brackets (18) connected to the central hub assemblies (42,44). Radial expansion of the segments (16) is provided by links (84) between each of the segments (16) and spaced drum expanding hub assemblies (86,88) threaded on a drum control screw (96). A molded central filler block (62) of rigid polyurethane is mounted on each segment (16) to fill the space between the bladder support brackets (18).

  • Patent number: 4295513
Abstract: A tire having a reinforcing sheet of tubular knit material stretchable during shaping into a toroidal form. The knit material provides openings for striking through of the liquid reaction mixture of elastomer forming material used in molding the tire. The sheet of knit material may be folded over spaced-apart bead rings and overlapped to provide multiple layers. The tire is molded on a core supporting the reinforcing sheet and bead rings with the strands of the knit material straightened out and in tension at the time of cure.

  • Patent number: 4131667
Abstract: Method of preparing polyurethane composite mold by injecting a composite reaction mixture onto a master form in a mold cavity, curing said reaction composite and removing it from the master form in a step-wise process involving a pressure manipulation. Said composite comprises 100 parts by weight inorganic water insoluble inert granular material and about 50 to about 200 parts by weight liquid polyurethane reaction mixture substantially free of volatile solvents.

  • Patent number: 4049498
Abstract: Micromonospora inyoensis strain 155OF-1G NRRL 5742 is incapable of producing antibiotics unless an aminocyclitol is added to the fermentation medium. When such a compound is added, antibiotics are produced, said antibiotics being analogs of known aminoglycoside antibiotics differing therefrom with respect to the aminocyclitol subunit.

  • Patent number: 3951375
Abstract: A balanced runner system for injection moulding apparatus is disclosed. The runner system has an inlet, a plurality of runners and five gates. One of the gates is centrally located, the remaining gates being symmetrically spaced about the centrally located gate. The runners are such that the runner system is capable of supplying molten polymer to each gate at substantially the same rate. The runner system may be used to obtain a more uniform flow of molten polymer to a mould.
