  • Patent number: 10417015
Abstract: A method and system for operating a modified Java Virtual Machine (JVM) which is able to simultaneously host multiple Java application programs is disclosed. In a first modification the JVM is modified to permit multiple class definitions of some of the Java Application Programming Interface (API) classes, so called non-sensitive classes, to be loaded multiple times but restrict other Java API classes, so called sensitive classes, to be loaded only once, preferably onto a bootstrap class loader. In a second modification the Java API classes are also modified. Preferably in a further modification, some or all of the sensitive API classes are modified not to use synchronization.

  • Publication number: 20190260791
Abstract: Among other things, traces are received of activities of an online user who is associated with an entity. By analysis of the traces a security state of the entity is inferred. Also, a map is generated between (a) technical assets that contribute to security characteristics of respective entities and (b) the identities of the entities that are associated with the respective technical assets. At least part of the generating of the map is done automatically. A user can be engaged to assist in the generating of the map by presenting to the user through a user-interface (a) data about the technical assets of entities and (b) an interactive tool for associating the technical assets with the identities of the entities.

  • Publication number: 20190249367
Abstract: The disclosure provides a wet-pressed tissue product comprising agave fiber and having improved sheet bulk and good cross-machine tensile, toughness and durability properties. Cross-machine properties are significant because tissue products often fail in the cross-machine direction because it is often the weaker of the two product orientations (cross and machine directions). Accordingly, in certain embodiments the present disclosure provides a three-layered single-ply wet-pressed tissue product comprising high-yield agave fibers from the leaves of Agave tequilana, Eucalyptus Hardwood Kraft (EHWK) fibers and Northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK), wherein the high-yield agave fibers comprise at least about 5.0 percent by weight of the tissue product, the product having a CD tensile greater than about 450 g/3? and sheet bulk greater than about 7.0 cc/g.

  • Publication number: 20190232026
Abstract: In various examples, an apparatus facilitates attachment of an extension wire to a guidewire. The apparatus includes a body portion including a lumen sized to accommodate a distal end of the extension wire therein. A cutout is defined within a portion of a sidewall of the body portion, the cutout allowing access to the lumen. A funnel portion is disposed within a distal end of the body portion and includes an opening in the distal end of the body portion. The funnel portion includes a tapered wall converging from the opening to the lumen, wherein, with the distal end of the extension wire disposed within the lumen, the funnel portion facilitates alignment and attachment of a proximal end of the guidewire with the distal end of the extension wire. In other examples, a system or a method facilitates attachment of an extension wire to a guidewire.

  • Publication number: 20190215842
Abstract: In one embodiment, a control device associated with a wireless network of a given location determines a reference quality of location readings between access points and client devices based on using substantially all of an available wireless communication bandwidth. The control device may then determine channel state information (CSI) between the client devices and access points for each orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) resource unit (RU), and selects a subset of RUs for allocation to each respective client device, based on the subset of RUs allocated to each respective client device i) surpassing a determined threshold of certain parameters of the CSI, while also ii) providing a minimum quality of a location reading based on using only the subset of RUs as compared to the reference quality of location readings. The control device may then allocate the selected subset of RUs to each respective client device for location-preserving OFDMA-signaling-based communication.

  • Patent number: 10345069
Abstract: A firearm suppressor is convertible from a suppressor with an open vent to a closed vent. When the vent is open gas is allowed to pass from a longitudinal barrel opening through which a projectile is fired into and through the vent. The gas passes from the vent into an annulus defined between a suppressor sleeve and a barrel section of the suppressor.

  • Publication number: 20190205996
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for predicting probability of a clinical invoice being paid by a specified date. A clinical invoice is a request for payment. The clinical invoice can take the form of an insurance claim, bill to a person (e.g., self-insured, co-pay), or submission to a government entity (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid). Healthcare facilities do not know how long they will have to wait between submitting an invoice and receiving compensation from government, insurance, or other payers. The methods described herein can be used to estimate the probability of payment occurring by a specified date. This information can be used to triage outstanding claims for investigation and to improve outstanding cash forecasts. The technology described herein uses survival curves to estimate when an invoice will be paid.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, apparatuses, and methods for assembling cartridges for aerosol delivery devices. The cartridges may be assembled by coupling a base of the cartridge to a carriage that is transported via a track. The track transports the carriages between various substations at which one or more parts are added to the base. The carriage may be lifted from the track by a lifter mechanism at each substation in order to perform assembly operations on the base. An inspection system may inspect the cartridges at various stages of completion at or between the various substations.
