  • Publication number: 20240076365
Abstract: This invention relates to crystals of the human Gremlin-1 protein, and the human Gremlin-1 protein in complex with an inhibitory antibody. The invention also relates to the structure of human Gremlin-1 (on its own, or in complex with the antibody) and uses of these structures in screening for agents which modulate Gremlin-1 activity. The invention further provides antibodies which bind an allosteric inhibitory site on Gremlin-1, together with pharmaceutical compositions and medical uses of such antibodies and agents identified by the screening methods.

  • Publication number: 20230256737
Abstract: A printer includes a nozzle from which a stream of printing fluid is electrostatically extracted and directed toward a printing surface. A diverter can selectively interrupt the stream of printing fluid so that at least some of the extracted printing fluid is not deposited on the printing surface. Another stream of printing fluid can be extracted from another nozzle in a different direction from the first. Respective diverters can selectively and independently interrupt each stream of printing fluid to control which portions of the extracted fluids are deposited over the printing surface. Diverted printing fluid can be collected and reused. The diverters allow for a more constant or uniform extraction field while permitting selective deposition of ink droplets similar to drop-on-demand printing schemes.

  • Publication number: 20230256758
Abstract: An electrohydrodynamic printer has a self-cleaning extractor that can cleaning itself during printing. The extractor can be in the form of a metal block or a metal rod along which a layer of cleaning fluid flows from a source of cleaning fluid to a collector. The surface of the extractor along which the cleaning fluid flows can be adjustable between horizontal and any other angle. The self-cleaning extractor eliminates the need to interrupt e-jet printing cycles to clean stray printing fluid from the extractor by continuously keeping the extractor clean during ink extraction and printing.

  • Publication number: 20230122430
Abstract: A printer is configured to provide a stream of extraction gas that extracts a printing fluid from a printing nozzle. An electrode produces an electric field that accelerates the extracted printing fluid toward a printing substrate. The printer can be configured to selectively turn the electric field and the stream of extraction gas off and on to enable printing in a gas-extraction mode, an e-assisted gas-extraction mode, or an e-jet mode. The stream of gas can be provided by a second nozzle concentric with the printing nozzle, and the electrode can be part of the second nozzle. A third nozzle can discharge a focusing gas around the extracted printing fluid.

  • Patent number: 11548277
Abstract: A printer is configured to provide a jet of extraction gas that extracts a printing fluid from a printing nozzle in the presence of an electric field that accelerates the extracted printing fluid toward a printing substrate. The printer is also configured to selectively turn the electric field and the jet of extraction gas off and on to enable printing in gas-extraction mode, an e-assisted gas-extraction mode, or an e-jet mode. The jet of gas can be provided by a second nozzle concentric with the printing nozzle. A third nozzle can discharge a focusing gas around the extracted printing fluid.

  • Patent number: 11551486
Abstract: A data logging device tracks the operation of a vehicle or driver actions. The device includes a storage device, which may be removable or portable, having a first memory portion that may be read from and may be written to in a vehicle and a second memory portion that may be read from and may be written to in the vehicle. The second memory portion may retain data attributes associated with the data stored in the first removable storage device. A processor reads data from an automotive bus that transfers data from vehicle sensors to other automotive components. The processor writes data to the first memory portion and the second memory portion that reflect a level of risk or safety. A communication device links the storage device to a network of computers. The communication device may be accessible through software that allows a user to access files related to a level of risk or safety and other software that may be related to those files.

  • Publication number: 20220287477
Abstract: A segmented toy bar assembly includes multiple toy bar segments connected by couplings that allow for reconfiguration between an expanded configuration defining an expanded length and a compact configuration having a compact length that is substantially less than the expanded length. The toy bar segments may take the form of flexible members having a cross-sectional width at least two times the cross-sectional thickness, to allow the expanded toy bar to flex into an arch for placement over a play mat or other children's accessory. Toys may be suspended from the erected toy bar for play and entertainment.
