  • Patent number: 5824984
Abstract: Portable electric wire cutter device includes a housing; a pair of spaced apart electrodes mounted with the housing; a source of electric current, for communication with the electrodes; a wire-guiding member, which can control or guide wire to be in proximity or contact with the electrodes; and a trigger mechanism, which can draw a wire within control of the wire-guiding member to electrical contact with the electrodes and activate a flow of electrical current from the source of electrical current to and from the electrodes, through a length of the wire in the electrical contact with the electrodes, such that the wire can be cut by the electrical current. The device may be of the hand-held type.

  • Patent number: 5511519
Abstract: An air inlet control system for a carburetor of an internal combustion engine. The system includes a magnet, an air inlet valve, and a temperature controlled limiter. The magnet is used to automatically attract the air inlet valve towards a fully closed position. The temperature controlled limiter limits the range of movement of the air inlet valve based upon the temperature of the engine. The limiter limits the open position of the valve to a position less than fully open when the engine is cold and, limits the closed position of the valve to a position less than fully closed when the engine is hot.

  • Patent number: 5377642
Abstract: A compression release system is provided in an engine having a main exhaust port with an attached muffler. A muffler supporting boss extends from the cylinder of the engine separate from the muffler mounting at the main exhaust port. A compression release port extends through the boss. The muffler has two separate inlet apertures; one for the main exhaust port and one for the compression release port.

  • Patent number: 5148992
Abstract: A pressure washer attachment for a string trimmer. The attachment has a housing and a liquid accelerating pump. The housing is adapted to be connected to a shaft of the string trimmer with the pump connected to a motor of the string trimmer. A liquid supply hose can be connected to the attachment such that the string trimmer motor can operate the pump to accelerate the liquid as it is discharged from the attachment for cleaning or washing.

  • Patent number: 4667455
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for sealing together two generally cylindrical thermoplastic members, each having a longitudinal axis, an open end and a closed end, so that upon being joined they form a sealed capsule that may be swallowed. One capsule member may be snugly inserted into a vibrating cavity with the opened end of the member available to be filled with an active composition. The other member is placed over the first member and pushed downwardly so that the open portions of both members overlap one another. The overlapping portions of the wall members abut each other at a cylindrical interface band. Vibration causes only the overlapping wall portions of the members to rub together, thereby generating heat around the interface band. The heat, so generated, melts enough thermoplastic material at that band to produce, on cooling, a strong circular bond between both members.

  • Patent number: 4428123
Abstract: An improved mounting between a cylindrical package, containing a sensitive instrument, and a protective cylindrical housing disposed thereabout. Plugs at opposite ends of the housing each have a conical recess opening toward the other plug and between which the package is confined. O-rings at each end of the package engage the tapered wall of the adjacent recess and absorb longitudinal and radial shock and center the package within the housing. To restrain relative rotational movement between the housing and instrument package, a plurality of coil springs are disposed within aligned bores in an end of the package and the adjacent plug.
