    Abstract: A ladder having an anchoring system is disclosed including a ladder and stakes to be driven into the ground which are engagable against an upwardly facing surface of the ladder in the normal position of use. According to preferred embodiments, the ladder is provided with a pair of apertures either in the lower most rung, the side rails or in laterally extending flanges through which the anchoring stakes are received.
