Patent number: 8955076Abstract: A technique controls access to a protected resource residing on a protected resource server. The technique involves conveying, in response to a user request to access the protected resource residing on the protected resource server, a challenge from a resource accessing device to an access control device. The technique further involves transmitting an answer to the challenge from the access control device to the resource accessing device. The technique further involves completing an authentication operation based on the answer to the challenge. The resource accessing device obtains electronic access to the protected resource residing on the protected resource server when the authentication operation results in successful authentication. The resource accessing device does not obtain electronic access to the protected resource residing on the protected resource server when the authentication operation results in unsuccessful authentication.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2012Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: Sorin Faibish, Yedidya Dotan, John A. Murray, Lawrence N. Friedman

Patent number: 7360484Abstract: The present invention is a self-standing unit designed to compact aluminum cans. A stand is connected to a vertical housing, which is hollowed out and contains a can slot, a slot for a handle, and a plurality of slots for a plurality of springs to operate. Connected to the vertical member are the springs, which also connect to a crushing device. The crushing device fits inside the hollow section of the vertical member and has the handle located near the top of it. The invention is spring loaded so that the can slot normally stays open for placing a can inside to be crushed.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2006Date of Patent: April 22, 2008Inventors: John A. Murray, Everlena C. Murray

Patent number: 4436498Abstract: A method and apparatus for rapidly manufacturing concrete or like products having an advanced state of cure by blending together a calcareous cementitious binder, aggregate, and water to form a mix, molding the mixture to have a predetermined shape and exposing the shape to an atmosphere in a chamber consisting essentially of carbon dioxide gas, wherein carbon dioxide gas is fed under controlled conditions into said chamber through a series of tubes having a multiplicity of spaced orifices during the movement of the shape therein and continuing the feed so as to cause an exothermic temperature rise in the shape.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1982Date of Patent: March 13, 1984Assignee: Conger/Murray Systems, Inc.Inventor: John A. Murray

Patent number: 4427610Abstract: A method and apparatus for rapidly manufacturing concrete or like poducts having an advanced state of cure by blending together a calcareous cementitious binder, aggregate, and water to form a mix, molding the mixture to have a predetermined shape and exposing the shape to an atmosphere in a chambr consisting essentially of carbon dioxide gas, wherein ultracold carbon dioxide gas is fed to said chamber during the movement of the shape therein and continuing the feed so as to cause an exothermic temperature rise in the shape.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1982Date of Patent: January 24, 1984Assignee: Conger/Murray Systems, Inc.Inventor: John A. Patent number: 4398960Abstract: A concrete mix which comprises solids in the amount of:(a) 5-25% by weight of a calcareous cementitious binder;(b) 50-70% by weight of a coarse aggregate having a particle size in a range of about 3/8" to larger than 30 mesh, and(c) 25-35% by weight of a fine aggregate having a particle size in a range of about 100-pan mesh, andwater, said mix being substantially free of aggregate having a particle size in the range of 30-50 mesh.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 1982Date of Patent: August 16, 1983Assignee: Conger/Murray Systems, Inc.Inventor: John A. Murray

Patent number: 4266921Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for the manufacture of products of concrete or like construction, in which a mixture of calcareous cementitious binder substance, such as cement, an aggregate, a vinyl acetate-dibutyl maleate copolymer, and an amount of water sufficient to make a relatively dry mix is compressed into the desired configuration in a mold, and with the mixture being exposed to carbon dioxide gas in the mold, prior to the compression taking place, such that the carbon dioxide gas reacts with the ingredients to provide a hardened product in an accelerated state of cure having excellent physical properties.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1978Date of Patent: May 12, 1981Assignee: U.S. Terrazzo Panels, Inc.Inventor: John A. Murray

Patent number: 4233008Abstract: An apparatus is provided for the manufacture of concrete products in which a mixture comprised of cement, aggregate, a vinyl acetate-dibutyl maleate copolyer and an amount of water sufficient to make a relatively dry mixture is initially compressed into the desired configuration. This compressed-shaped article is then cured in a chamber charged with carbon dioxide gas to provide a fully cured concrete product having excellent physical properties. The apparatus of this invention is especially useful in the manufacture of terrazo panels and the like.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1978Date of Patent: November 11, 1980Assignee: U.S. Terrazzo Panels, Inc.Inventor: John A. Murray

Patent number: 4093690Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for the manufacture of products of concrete or like construction, in which a mixture of calcareous cementitious binder substance, such as cement, an aggregate, a vinyl acetate-dibutyl maleate copolymer, and an amount of water sufficient to make a relatively dry mixture is initially compressed into the desired configuration. This compressed shaped article is then subjected to an accelerated curing process in a chamber that is charged with carbon dioxide gas to provide a hardened product in an accelerated cure state having excellent physical properties, although the apparatus may be used, if desired, to provide only a desired amount of curing, as the circumstances may dictate.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1976Date of Patent: June 6, 1978Assignee: U.S. Terrazzo Panels, Inc.Inventor: John A.
