  • Patent number: 9023304
Abstract: A composition, system, and method for abatement of airborne contaminants employ an aqueous solution of cyclodextrin and a preservative. The system includes a low shear mixer for introducing the aqueous solution to a contaminated air stream by laminar flow. The system also may have a separator for removing by high shear agitation a contaminant from the aqueous solution following its use, for purposes of recycling the cyclodextrin. The composition, system, and method are particularly useful for treatment of an indoor atmosphere in which the contaminant is a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon such as styrene.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 18, 2014
